Visited the hotel for our anniversary celebration. The hotel has an excellent pre-check-in concierge service via email, which I found extremely useful and convenient. I was able to make specific requests and a reservation to a nearby restaurant for our dinner...the hotel even responded with confirmation emails with personalized inputs. The hotel also provided with the top of the floor...

My wife and I stayed here together for one night. Thought the rooms were nice, although on the small side and dated in decor. Liked the large TV and premium sound system in our room. We were on one of the higher floors and had a nice view. The staff was incredibly helpful and genuine. Front desk staff could probably...

Very, very nice hotel, especially when it comes to service- their concierges are awesome, always super nice, smiling and alert any time of day or night... The pool is as good as can be expected- lots of screaming kids jumping in, hot tub needs a bit of oomph with its jets. The gym is nicely equipped but alas, a bit...

We were a party of four and had two one bedroom deluxe suites. Both rooms had loads of space, a fully equipped kitchen complete with a giant oven and fridge, dishwasher, all utensils, crockery and cutlery you would ever need. The room was pleasantly decorated, had all the mod cons including a flat screen TV in the bedroom and an...

Upon arrival we had a friendly doorman and front desk clerk. We got a complimentary upgrade from a 1 bedroom suite in the updated rooms to a 2 bedroom 1.5 bathroom suite. This was the only hotel (out of 3) on our trip that had actually set up the pack in play (as we requested) prior to our arrival. The...

I enjoyed the Sutton Place hotel and it's proximity to everything downtown within a 15-20 minute walk. Suite was perfect. The conceirge staff was wonderful and extremely helpful. I too had just the one complaint on the A/C unit. When it kicked on it was very loud. It looks old

The hotel is grand with lots of character. The hotel is in a central location makes all the sightseeing very accessible. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. Concierge weren't very helpful, just pushed a map at me and that was it... Also, the door staff were more interested in the people in suits and ignored everyone else. Overall, if...

The Sutton location and quality makes it one of most favorite places to stay in Vancouver. In the past I have booked our room using hotwire and Expedia, but I must admit booking directly with the hotel was the best experience. Our room was great and we were able to check in early. My only complaint was the air conditioning...

We rented a suite for the 3 of us, and loved it! The room was big and had all the immensities you could want. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub and its closeness to everything. The continental breakfast was so yummy, with so many choices. We stayed once before and glad we did again. Just spent an evening at the Sutton Place. A charming hotel in a terrific location in downtown Vancouver. I arrived early and jet lagged from a long flight back from East Africa. The staff were welcoming and accommodating. The room was large and homey! Great balcony you could actually sit on and windows that open ... I'd stay there again...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
