Very good place to stay. Easily as good & probably better than its' 3.5 star rating. Well located in Vancouver's West End with any kind of store or service you might need just a few minutes walk away.

They try hard to maintain the upmarket look it would of had back in the day. Our room was very dated, drawers were falling off in the kitchen area. Air conditioning/heating was an old portable thing in the corner of the room. Beds were comfortable and water pressure was great. Loved the pool.

Great trip to Vancouver, great location downtown , walking distance from Stanley Park. friendly staff. we were upgraded at no extra charge to a suite with ocean view. Great family trip for a weekend in Vancouver. We would definitely come back.

First off I rate this hotel as "poor" only due to the extreme need for renovations (at least in our suite). We stayed here for a night on our way through Vancouver with our new puppy (Major plus all Coasts seem to be pet friendly). We were placed in a corner "suite" on the 23rd floor which was slightly annoying...

We enjoyed our stay, friendly staff, nice amenities, and the mall underneath was super convenient. There is a grocery store and a dollarama among other things. The pool was great for the kids and lots of restaurants within walking distance. The wifi was horrible though!

We stayed at the Coast Plaza in March 2017 for our honeymoon. We stayed in the Cedar Suite which is equipped with a beautiful jacuzzi tub overlooking the city. The view was stunning. The decor could use an update - but other than that it was very enjoyable.

Great location and good value. The junior suite was ideal. The hotel is older and good use a sprucing up but is very clean. The reception staff are helpful. We were surprised that parking was not included as it cost $25.00 a day & gets pricy.

Great place for a family vacation; The pool and mall make it extra special. The location can't be beat -- right next to Stanley Park and Denman Street. Lots of lovely restaurants just steps away. Beaches just steps away. Granville Island is not far -- you can take a small ferry to Granville Island and enjoy a great farmer's market!!...

We booked a trip with BC Ferries staying 3 nights at the Coast Plaza. The only thing that has changed is the bedding. They have triple sheeting which I really like. The rooms really need updating. Two of the 3 lamps in the room were missing bulbs. These were replaced quickly after we phoned but one has to wonder why...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
