The room was very clean an comfortable. We will stay here again as it was very convenient. The guest services staff were outgoing and very professional. A great place to stay in downtown Vancouver. The closeness to Stanley Park was a great positive.

Came up with a really great rate and 3.5 stars on Priceline. So I figured why not. Now I know. It's not that the place is a dump, it's just that it's worn out in desperate need of a gut renovation. For $20 more per night I could have gotten a 4 star. This is no 3.5 star. More like...

Welcoming and entertaining staff at reception. Great big room - nicely planned with sitting area and pentry. Good service and beds. Great that the parking, pool etc is in the same building. Even a small mall on one level with good service. And fabulous view.

Apparently they are closing in November 2017 and you can tell that no money is being spent on upkeep and the cleanliness of the rooms has greatly depleted. Don't expect consistent internet either, very frustrating.

Convenient to downtown and trains. Hotel is slightly dated and the bathroom needs refreshing asap. Nice large rooms with balcony looking out over Vancouver. Be sure to check out the many cafes, restaurants and pubs on the nearby street.

We had a little trouble finding the Plaza due to the one way streets but once we found it, it was good. We asked to be as high up as possible and were put on the 22nd floor so we had a view. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean although the furniture seemed dated and somewhat worn....

We appreciated being upgraded to a wonderful penthouse suite. This made out stay absolutely fabulous. The suite was fully equipped, had 2 balconies with breathtaking views of Vancouver (one overlooking English Bay and Kitsilano beaches and the other one looking towards the north shore mountains, Lions Gate Bridge etc. We also ate a wonderful breakfast at the restaurant there and...

We live on the Sunshine Coast and have stayed at this Coast Hotel a few times (with a significant discount on Priceline) - we will definitely be back! Would like to see a deal (equivalent to Priceline's) for locals that comes directly from the hotel during the slower periods.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.

“It's worth paying a little more to have a view. You won't have to leave the room to take in the spectacular city lights and mountain scape that make Vancouver famous. Leave your car in the hotel garage and walk to excellent Japanese, Italian, farm-to-market, Thai, dumplings, pubs and a bunch of the West Ends friendliest and finest restaurants.”
