The room was dark, elevator slow and a little bit scary and I felt dirty after sleeping in the hotel. The neigborhood was depressing with all the homeless people. The only good thing was the staff in the reception; allways helpful and knowledgable.

This hotel is the cheapest in Downtown Vancouver The price is $50/day and $8/day(Tax) In my case, the hotel discounted for one day price when I stayed for 10 days. The hoteliers are kind. The bus accessibility is good also

We came here to adjust to Canada: finding a flat, work, etc. Pro: - low price (!) - internet is working - (old) TV - own bathroom - friendly staff Con: - (very) old - everything looks filthy (carpet, bed sheets, window sill, radiator) - radiator works once in a while (as it was mild outside during our stay, we...

Seeing "Budget Inn" in the title should have been a dead give away but the plethora of positive/semi-positive reviews here lead me to believe booking the Patricia Hotel was an okay decision, given the cheap price. Boy was I wrong. The "hotel" is surrounded by groups of aggressive homeless people and a makeshift drug hospital, which is considered a "deadzone"...

Dear Auspack_Traveller_88, Thank you for sharing your experience. We are sorry to hear that you personally felt unsafe in our neighbourhood or that you found homeless people to be aggressive. This is quite contrary to reviews posted previously and from the feedback that we receive from guests, so we are surprised that this was your impression. Thank you for acknowledging...

The Patricia Hotel was a cool place to stay. It was my first time in Canada and staying at the Patricia Hotel made my stay more enjoyable. Very cozy with a historical feel, and good pub where you can hear some solid jazz bands. Good price for the rooms and very kind staff. My room was very clean and well...

The location puts off some but let me tell you the hotel itself and the staff are amazing! I experienced courtesy and excellent service in a clean well maintained room. And the price is truly budget. They even drew a map to the breakfast location where we received 5% off some very good food. If you need a good, clean...

Despite its budget status this is actually a very decent place to stay. It's an old and even fairly grand building. Our room was fairly basic as you'd expect but clean and comfortable. Some have reviewers have mentioned the noise, we were given a room high up with city views and it was peaceful. Staff were helpful - definitely worth...

We had a pleasant stay at Patricia Hotel. The staff was super polite and helpful. The nicest person there was Noor! :-) He went above and beyond! He gave us tips & instructions on what to do and where to go. He took his time explaining & writing on the map so we didn't get lost! He called cabs for...

This is a budget hotel that is a step above a hostel. It's clean and the beds are comfortable. It's in a gentrified area so you'll see everything from people living on the street outfront to people living in $5 million condos two blocks away. The rooms are small, but sufficient for a good night's sleep. The bathroom is functional...

My partner and I stayed here for two nights while on business. It is in an impoverished area of town, but that wasn't a bother for either of us. They lock the front entrance at night and buzz you in when you wave your room key. The room was small, but comfortable and clean! It was very quiet until the...

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
