This is a budget hotel that is a step above a hostel. It's clean and the beds are comfortable. It's in a gentrified area so you'll see everything from people living on the street outfront to people living in $5 million condos two blocks away....More

My partner and I stayed here for two nights while on business. It is in an impoverished area of town, but that wasn't a bother for either of us. They lock the front entrance at night and buzz you in when you wave your room...More

A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and

Hi, Irish M. I think your review is way out of order for the Pat Hotel. I always stay at #ThePatriciaHotel, and have done so for many years. The Staff are always always exemplary in their treatment of customers. If you look at past reviews, you will find clients praising the level of customer care, by Staff such as Noor and Lindsay. Van is a relative newcomer to the Staff as far as I know, and the same for the Asian guy you mention. Sure it's an old building, but the rooms are always clean and tidy. There was a recent retrofit of the carpets in the corridors when I was there. Sure it's in an area that has lots of homeless and drug users, but that is endemic to the DTE area in Vancouver and many big cities...I often go to Seattle downtown, and there is a homeless problem there too. That said, I never have a problem with the drug users or homeless....hell, I got to know some of them by name, and very friendly and helpful they are too! The location of the hotel cannot be beaten for the price...I mean, you can walk to most downtown spots within 15 to 20 minutes! And no...I don't work for the hotel, nor do I get any monetary compensation for writing this!
