Located near cruise ships piers, very clean, friendly staff, great beds, wifi. don't count on breakfast, but fresh croissants are available. No elevator, we had the room on the ground floor. Some bars are in waking distance.

Our experience was very good. Centrally located within walking distance of gas town and down town. Room was very large and accommodating, staff was friendly and helpful. Price was right. Vancouver is the most cosmopolitan city in North America, in our opinion. We enjoyed the different ethnicity and customs.

I was there with my husband from april 13th till april 19th. We had the shared washroom options and the washrooms were extremly clean. That made us happy. The room is not the biggest but sufficient. Comfortable bed and pillow. The included breakfast was just perfect to start off the day. Great location ,,,easy acces from the airport by train..the...

We enjoyed our king room with ensuite bath, and found the staff extremely helpful and friendly. The location is very good and rates reasonable. However, even though we don't personally have mobility issues, we remarked on how INaccessible the property is - inconvenient steps to negotiate from sidewalk or car. Hope they'll do something about this.

Many thanks for your kind words Carol. As for the accessibility issues, we do our level best to alert guests to the challenges of stairs and the absence of an elevator. Our property lay-out is essentially the same design as it has been for the past two centuries. I will take this opportunity to remind travelers to confirm that any...

highly recommend this hotel. it's super quaint, the rooms are very comfortable, have all the amenities (except for air conditioning), staff are very friendly and accommodating and the continental breakfast is the best i've seen (nice selection of pastries from a local, french bakery).

I have stayed at this hotel 2 other times in the past. This is my first stay in a room with an en-suite bathroom. The room had a more 'modern' look and I actually prefer the decor of the rooms that have a style more in line with the older look of the building and architecture of the hotel. Other...

Good location near airport sky train and waterfront station. Rooms are nice and in good condition but lack of storage space. Breakfast was fine but would benefit from juice and a better coffee machine. Staff were fine but not as friendly as the average person in Vancouver. Internet was a bit hit or miss and sound of substation was audible...

Thanks for taking the time to give us your perspectives Michael. I must say I'm happy to hear that you find the average Vancouverite to be really friendly. At least I think that's what you mean. Hopefully, the hotel will exude a little less ambiguity for you next time. Travel well.

Great location near Gastown, easy walk to Downtown, has parking too which is useful. The room was lovely, clean and stylish. It had a sink too which was nice since we were sharing bathrooms (but wow, the bathroom was nice! Completely new and modern and a shower with great shower pressure haha). The bed was a bit short but super...

Many thanks to you Sonia, though I have to scratch my head, as you are the second person recently that suggested the beds may be too short. In fact all our beds are actually extra long. maybe our guests are just getting taller and taller. Nonetheless, it's great to hear you enjoyed your stay and we'd love to see you...

The highlight was the stylish room with brick walls, old style heating elements, enough room in the room and very good beds and a good bathroom with a shower. (no bath). The breakfast was exactly as in the description -- continental, no scrambled eggs or an omlette. On the whole, a good hotel more for individualists than for mass tourism....

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
