Aside from being the most affordable place in town, the YWCA is clean and conveniently located to downtown and public transportation. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and basic amenities, such as refrigerators, blow dryers, and toiletries are provided. Kitchen and Laundromat facilities are available for use, which is an added bonus. We had a...

Travelling alone for the first part of my holiday, I looked for cheaper hotel accommodation. I chose a room that had shared bathroom with the next room and this worked with no problems, as only toilet & shower and the handbasin was in my room. The lock system worked fine. The room was clean and good. The airconditioning was quite...

A friend and I wanted to go to Vancouver for a convention and to sightsee. We had a room with shared bathroom (shared with one other room). The room was nicely sized and facilities were clean. Toiletries and towels were provided. Overall, a good place to stay and would definitely recommend as a no-frills accommodation. As a plus: the establishment...

Good budget accomodation. Central location and close to train terminals. Female staff were very friendly and helped a lot with planning sightseeing. Male staff could have been friendlier. Shower was aweful...felt like fire hydrant spraying at me. Air con didn't really work in room which was uncomfortable as it was summer. Generally satisfactory accomodation for a budget trip as Vancouver...

All the staff members were helpful and polite about any questions we had. The room was ready and clean when we arrived. It was a great price and walking distance to any where we needed to go or to the sky train to get us to a different area of Vancouver. Overall very happy with our stay.

Very simple to find and about a 10-15 min walk from the station. Great location near most attractions or close to some sort of public transport. Very helpful and friendly staff and very comfortable room. Exceeded my expectations. Also had some great food options close by. Loved Vancouver!!!

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
