If you want a good location and self catering this is it. Booked in advance and got a good rate. 35 Canadian dollar ride from the airport. Easy check in with very helpfull staff. Room great with a good mini kitchen. Short distance to three supermarkets with a good range of food and a nearby bakery for bread and fresh...

Our family stayed here during our visit to Vancouver in mid-May. The location was great as it is walking distance to Yaletown for shopping, dining, and getting on the Skytrain to the airport. Our room was ready early, meticulously clean ,and quiet. Breakfast options were plentiful. I appreciated the veggie scramble as an option instead of meat. The large seating...

We were staying in Vancouver overnight while changing to different cruise ships. We got to the hotel early in the morning, since we need to be off the cruise ship. Our king size bed was not available at that time, but we were given a queen size bed right away. We were pleased with the room, and the fact we...

Residence inn is centrally located. The rooms are large and equipped with a kitchen and sitting area, and there is a tasty complimentary breakfast. The staff is friendly. The location itself is not pretty, and there is ongoing building nearby; nevertheless, the room is very quiet, thanks to thick windows.

We come to the Marriott because its a condo hotel in the city. A 10 - 15 minute walk to downtown past interesting shops and attractions it's worth staying here for the peace and quiet, cheaper parking and free wifi! It's on the edge of Yaletown and Granville Island ferry; easy walks to eclectic shops and restaurants. Public transport is...

Spending a few days in Vancouver before leaving on cruise....lots of hotels to choose from. This Residence Inn is in the heart of downtown and easy to get to most places. Rooms are very comfortable and have dishwashers and the largest refrigerator/freezers I've ever seen in a hotel! Breakfast is good and there is ample space for all without it...

We - and others - had a brief learning curve using the elevators. The RFID room card had to be placed on a sensor. This was not ground-breaking technology but there was no readily observable signage explaining the process. A simple plaque at the floor selection panel would help. Breakfast room appeared to be nice but we left before breakfast...

An excellent place to spend a night or two after a cruise to Vancouver. Easy check in - our room was ready even though we arrived very early in the day. Full hot breakfast that came with fresh fruit every morning. Comfortable secure rooms. Close to public transportation and walkable to the ferry across to Granville Island. 2 blocks to...

Hotel well placed for walking both downtown and to Granville Island. Rooms well equipped to make own meals if required and well maintained. Currently surrounded by building works but this was not an issue with noise despite the precautionary warning from the hotel. Breakfast included though no afternoon/evening restaurant but plenty of eateries within easy distance. Would certainly use again...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
