We stayed in this hotel as a combination business/tourism. Located right downtown, walking to Yaletown, the West End, Stanley Park, Chinatown was a breeze. Staff were very helpful with everything from tourism information to righting the slow internet response. Our one-bedroom suite was clean, faced away from the main street; keep in mind this is not a hotel per say...

I traveled with two other people while in Vancouver, returning from a cruise. We had a 2 bedroom suite, which included two baths, a kitchen and a large living room dining room area. The accommodations were excellent for our group and would work very well for a family. It is convenient to downtown, restaurants and shopping. There is a very...

It's a good hotel, location and access to amenities is great. The proximity to downtown nightlife is troublesome, even on the 21st floor the noise from Robson and the businesses there was a bothersome. Particularly any early morning (3:30am) work happening, the back up beep from trucks can be heard clearly on the 21st floor and woke me up on...

We just stayed at the Carmana Plaza for the BMO Marathon. What wonderful service and accommodation! Our two bedroom suite had great city/water views, a well stocked kitchen, and all needed amenities. It is perfectly located for downtown activities and for finishing up at the marathon. The staff were the most hospitable we have ever encountered at a hotel.

I have stayed in dozens of hotels in Vancouver over the years. There have been some great ones, but top of that list is the Carmana Plaza. My family and I just enjoyed a stay this past weekend, and the new renovations are fantastic. The engaging staff, as always, want to do more. We had a two bedroom suite, which...

Great location. Renovated rooms, particularly bathrooms, are spacious, not bad lighting over mirror, no clutter, comfy beds and the self serve kitchen is well stocked with dishes etc.. Might think about replacing the towels, they have been used alot and are not as absorbent as they might have been, but a minor point.

The Carmana Plaza is excellently located one block from Robson Street in Downtown Vancouver. Everything is walkable from the hotel which was great for two families with children ranging from 6 to 14. The staff were very helpful and organised a shuttle to the airport which was cheaper then taking 3 taxis which was appreciated. Rooms were more like an...

Stayed here for 4 nights and what a fantastic place. The staff were all very friendly and efficient. They seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs and were always keen for a chat! The hotel is directly across from a neat grocery/restaurant setup (the name escapes me) which is excellent and has its own embedded Starbucks. There is also one of...

Hotel was good - self contained, very central, staff friendly. Downside is you pay at hotel for parking car @ $25 each night and then if your ticket falls off the dash and out of view, you get fined $60 by carpark agency. Can't understand why a hotel in this day and age can't come up with a better system...

Great hotel, clean, convenient, friendly staff and very affordable for the location. Lots of room and very nice bonus to have the microwave and kitchen facilities. Felt safe and secure which is a nice feeling for two women traveling alone.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
