Excellent location, a short walk to restaurants, the water, Stanley Park, and a nice clean alternative to better hotels. Doug is the quintessential B&B host; he'll tell you all you need to know about attractions that meet your interests. The breakfast is superb, and as...More
Doug's scones. That should be enough reason to stay at English Bay Inn. The rest of the breakfast is of very high quality too and, not to put too fine a point on it, very healthy!

Stayed here for two days and wished we could have stayed a week. Room was one of the smaller "cozy" ones but still very comfortable and quiet. Great quiet neighborhood and close (three blocks) to English Bay and Stanley Park. Breakfast was amazingly good and...More
We stayed at the English Bay Inn for five nights in total spread over two short stays in Vancouver. The host Doug was really friendly and welcoming and had arranged to have our room ready early after our morning arrival from Australia, which was greatly...More

A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along
with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.

You would get on the bus at the Vancouver downtown bus station (I don't know the address but I'm sure it's on the BC Ferries Connector website) which would take you to the ferry terminal at Tsawwassen. You can get off the bus while on the ferry, then reboard in order to go from the ferry to the Victoria downtown bus station. Hope this helps!
