The English Bay Inn was absolutely wonderful! Definitely a superior experience in our books! Doug is an amazing host and a world class chef! The breakfasts were incredible! We enjoyed a very romantic setting with food that was out of this world. Doug even went out of his way to accommodate our dietary needs (we are vegetarians). The eggs Benedict...

We've been around the world -- and been in many B&B's and Doug has the best French Toast we have Ever had, and let's not get started on the Eggs Benedict! Excellent location within easy walking distance of Stanley Park, and only a little further from Downtown and Granville Island. A delightful escape with beautiful decor, roaring fireplaces, and a...

A charming house with lovely rooms and Doug is an excellent host. The breakfasts are generous and delicious. West End is a great location, close to Stanley Park and Denman/Robson dining, and it's not far to walk into Downtown (public transport is also efficient). Thanks Doug for helping to make our Vancouver vacation so memorable

Located in West Vancouver on a quiet street, among a forest of gleaming multi-home towers, and within walking distance of Stanly Park, sits a classic bed and breakfast inn. The water’s edge is two blocks away. Excellent restaurants are within walking range. Public transportation, two blocks away, is frequent and will get you into the center of the city if...

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary in September and we can't say enough about it. The home itself is gorgeous! We felt so relaxed and welcomed. Breakfast at the house with Doug was a real treat. He was so helpful in recommending places for us to get dinner and sight seeing too. We will definitely be going...

We spent 4 days in this gem located in the center of any area you would like to access The rooms are a bit tiny but it is more than made up for in the service provided by Doug, the very ample, varied and tasty breakfasts he serves, and the quietness of the area. There is complimentary sherry and port...

My friend and I found this beautiful B&B on trip adviser, we booked for 7 days and fell in love with it, Doug is an absolute delightful host, greeted us on arrival after a long trip from Australia, nothing too much trouble to make us comfortable, from booking taxis to making us a cup of tea, at the end of...

English Bay Inn's location near Stanley Park is its best attribute. Stanley Park is just a couple of blocks away and there are numerous restaurants in walking distance. Our room and the public areas looked a bit tired and our "garden" view was disappointing. However, Doug was very helpful, suggesting nearby restaurants and giving navigation directions. The breakfasts were quite...

English Bay Inn is a beautiful B&B situated in a lovely area of the West End one block from Stanley Park! The area is so much fun to enjoy scenic walks/runs/biking. The area has a vast majority of ethnic and North American cuisine, but nothing beat the unbelievable breakfasts that Doug prepared for his full house of guests every morning....

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
