Me and my sister stayed here for 5 nights and it was a good experience as far as hostels go. However the whole place could do with a lick of paint and the carpets being pulled up as there was always a stale sort of smell in the dorms. I also had to ask that the sink in our dorm... More

ARRIVING FROM AIRPORT - If you're traveling as a group, take advantage of taxi zone fares ($31 to downtown flat rate, as of Oct 2016) Alternatively, you can easily take the Skytrain from YVR airport all the way to downtown. ($6 refundable Compass card purchase, can add stored value, $9.95 daily pass, etc). I suggest waiting to get downtown before... More

The location of this hostel is very good. The city center is not far away and it is a quiet and safe region at the same time. The staff is very friendly and always helpful. The breakfast was very nice. Not only bagels with peanutbutter or jam, coffee and tea were served but also orange juice, muffins, scones and raisin... More

Since I left booking accommodation to the last minute, all hotels were booked or extremely expensive so I booked for a private room for 125CAD/night. Despite this being a double room, I still felt that was well over priced for a hostel. The hostel is in a good location, which is its saving grace. Everything else was a little sub-standard... More

Lousy experience. Got a room facing the women's bathroom which slams each time someone goes in and out... Barely got any sleep on a Saturday night. My roommate hogged 3 out of the 4 jacket hooks on our side, so I hung my fleece sweater on the other side on the lockers where the hooks were empty. What do you... More

Stayed for a week in a four bed dorm. Room was very warm, and unfortunately the sink did not work in the room, but it was okay as we were right beside the bathroom. Quiet at night which was good. I found the staff at the front desk could be hit and miss - some were lovely and very friendly... More

You wont be disapointed if you only need a place to go to sleep at night and shower. Breakfast are included til 10am (bagels, muffins) but from 9:30 there's not much left and the staff mop the floor around you no matter you're there. Also there's enough chairs to sit so you better be early. Wifi is slow when working,... More

My daughter and I recently stayed at the hostel for two nights for a soccer tournament in Vancouver. It was reasonably clean, comfortable and considering the alternatives, fairly priced. The continental breakfast is included and decent although busy. Not much parking but secure lot is offered for fee. I'd recommend for budget conscious traveler who doesn't mind an international feel.

When we arrived at 12 the hostel staff changed our room allowing us to check in early- many thanks for this! We stayed in a private room for 3 nights, we were very pleased the room had its own toilet and sink! The room is very basic and the bed was very squeaky but it was big enough. We stayed... More

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
