Barclay Bed and Breakfast is a beautiful, big, old house with a lovely garden entrance located near downtown within walking distance (for good walkers) to English Bay and Stanley Park. Good eateries and restaurants are also nearby. We had a wonderful accommodation, a top floor...More
Absolutely delightful! Amazing house, decor, service, comfy bed, amazing gourmet breakfast, spotless bathroom, little amenities that made me feel like a special guest (tea, cookies, chocolate, chilled carafe of water, map of city). Beautiful gardens and patio and walk-able neighborhood. I was sad I only...More
We stayed one night at this charming bed and breakfast. Our room was very comfortable. The bed-and-breakfast is centrally located near Robson street.... Where we found a delightful place to eat.
I would recommend this place to friends.
Caught the train from Seattle to Vancouver which was really nice and did arrive at Barclay House early but left my luggage and went walking. BH is extremely central and easy to walk everywhere.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights as part of our trip to Vancouver. Dennis could not have been more helpful, allowing us to leave our luggage at the B&B the day before our stay so we could travel over night to Victoria...More
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along
with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
