I stayed for 4 nights in the Beach Room which was very nice - peaceful, spacious, comfortable bed, good bathroom, plenty of wardrobe space and a small fridge. I loved the cookies and bottle of water that were provided every day. The breakfast was very...More
Barclay House is such a beautiful place to stay while in Vancouver, Very quiet and all the staff are very helpful and friendly. Its close to the restaurants so you can walk pretty much anyway from there. Our room was the Forest room, lovely king...More
You won't find a friendlier host, better breakfast, or a more convenient location for visiting many of Vancouver's wonders. We stayed in 'The Peak' for 5 nights and it was a delightful experience. The staff is friendly and efficient (but not nosy or overbearing), full...More
Barclay house is in the center of everything… just a few blocks away from the array of bistros and restaurants, malls, English Bay, and Stanley Park.

Chose this place mainly because of the location and the price. I really did not care about the amenities and what they offer.

A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along
with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
