My girlfriend and I stayed here for a night when we traveled to Vancouver. We stayed in the Forest room which we both really enjoyed. The bed was so comfortable and there was a nice area to hang out in. It was a very easy...More
From the moment I opened the front gate to Barclay House Bed & Breakfast, I could tell that this gorgeous, yellow house would be something special. My luggage was ushered upstairs, and I stood in the foyer taking in all the amazing decor. Modern furniture...More
This little B&B in the quiet west end of Vancouver is a comfortable home away from home. The Forrest Room was a mini-suite and was clean, the king size bed was comfortable and we enjoyed the daily complimentary chocolate chip cookies. Dennis, the inn manager,...More
We cannot comment highly enough on the stay we had at Barclay House. Denis and his staff were very helpful and the elegance and comfort of the house made our stay very special. It was the best placed we stayed whilst in Canada. We will...More
The photographs on Barclay House B&B website don't lie - everything was just as in the pictures - a real joy to discover after the trans-Atlantic/Canada flight from London (England) to Vancouver. A perfect spot in a residential location but so near all the tourist...More
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along
with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
