We were booked in by our Travel Advisor without any idea of what we were going to find. Situated a short taxi ride from Vancouver airport, its central to everything you could need for a short stop. The hotel itself was lovely. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, only the shower was disappointing, was not secured, and awkward to use....

Got a great deal on hotwire.com. Staff was polite but not very friendly or welcoming. Room was nice, but a bit run down. View of the city was fantastic! Great location. Would not want to pay full price, but happy enough with what we got for what we paid.

This place was recommended to us by a local who clearly knew what vacationers need! The apartment was spacious and comfortably accommodated three adults and a child. There was ample closet and storage space, a good-sized living area where we could entertain visitors by day and where one of us slept at night, a modest dining area with a table...

Booked in with an excellent rate last weekend into a King size suite with my husband and son. This is our 3rd time at the hotel. This particular room had a private sitting room, full floor-to-ceiling windows, and peek-a-boo view of the ocean. French doors led into the lavish bedroom, again with full windows and full ensuite with soader tub...

I travelled to Vancouver with my husband in the summer of 2012. He travels here regularly and always stays at the Sutton Place. Because we were staying for 9 days and I was with him this time, he booked an apartment in La Grande Residence. I loved staying here!! The apartment had a bedroom, spacious living area, dining area, fully...

We recently stayed for a 1 night whirlwind stay in Vancouver with our daughter and her friend. This hotel was perfect as we had 2 bedrooms plus kitchen (which we didn't actually need). The location is fantastic- very close to everything downtown. As for the room, it was large, well appointed, and clean. The only possible drawback is that it...

My husband and I stayed with our 2 year old daughter for 5 days between Xmas and New Year, while visiting relatives in Vancouver. We have been to Vancouver a number of times and so knew the location would be perfect - easy to walk to most places, but also close to the sky train station for going further afield....

This was our second visit, and as usual the hotel was up to its usual high standard. Some clarifications are in order to allow guests to make informed choices though: 1. The pool is on the Ground floor, however access is via stairs from the 1st floor. People with mobility issues can possibly (?) arrange more direct access. It would...

Very central location between Yaletown, Westend & a super easy walk to Kits. Impeccable service, lovely rooms and a great grocery store right next store!! We booked on Priceline - it was a great deal. Didn't eat at the hotel - there are too many incredible restaurants in Vancouver not to go exploring!!

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
