I Russian studying English in Vancouver. This place was perfect for practice my English, meet Canadians, find friends for day trips and great party at night. Come for a week, stay for a month :-) There was lots of movies, music and games, and the owner even threw New Years party with beer!

This hostel is excellent for the backpacker wanting to meet new travellers abroad, play games and music within a friendly setting, watch movies in the t.v. room, and an active environment taboo where people are always on the go and doing something. There is a great selection of rooms which include dorms, private rooms for the single person or couple....

It was a rude awakening. I have never stayed in a place that was as dirty as this. We had booked a double bedroom but of course it wasn't available when we got there, so we ended up in a 8 bedroom dorm. The lock on the door was broken, opened the lockers to find bugs, had an Irish girl...

I have stayed here for two weeks now, so here is a REAL review from this place. If you're expecting a 5 star hotel for 10$ a night, than you'll be disapointed. If, however, you're looking for a cheap but cool place to stay for a while in van... you won't get a better deal. people are nice, there's always...

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
