We stayed for 2 nights and is was great. Nice owner: warm and friendly but also not too friendly keeping in mind our privacy. The breakfasts were good and sufficient. The location is a bit far from downtown, but we stayed there before so didn't need to be close by. Bike rental is close and you can bike (or walk)...

House on Dunbar was the ideal location for our trip to Vancouver. Away from the main city but nearby bus stops made access easy. Joanne was a great hostess and provided us with an array of breakfasts throughout our stay. Got to meet other fellow guests that you wouldn't in a hotel and also a great lounge area to relax...

Upon arrival, I was greeted warmly by the owner, Joanne. I was provided with keys to a separate side entrance and room. There are only three rooms available in this beautiful modern home so privacy was in abundance. The guest rooms are in the semi-basement. There is lots of natural light in the guest room. Besides the privet guest accommodation...

We were looking forward to our stay here, being the last few nights of our honeymoon and having received a nice welcome email from Joanne when i booked, i thought it was going to be great. I emailed Joanne on the day of our arrival at 12 noon to let her know we would be arriving at 8pm due to...

I have done extensive research on B&Bs internationally and I operate my B&B based on reviews on trip advisor and personal feedback. I am always striving to do better and to provide guests with personal touches and attentions. It disappoints me that I did not meet your expectations. A few points that I would like to address: * Your email...

We recently spent three nights at the House on Dunbar and enjoyed everything about them. Joanne is incredibly well organized and provided a binder of information about major destinations in Vancouver - with pullout pages we could take with us. Breakfasts were yummy and fuelled us well for our adventures in the city and North Vancouver. The bus stop was...

I enjoyed my time at House On Dunbar. I was in town for a conference and found it a comfortable 15 min car ride away from the Convention Center downtown, yet in a very peaceful and beautiful part of town, near the University of British Columbia campus. The room was beautiful and I enjoyed the bathroom - large and beautifully...

I stayed in the 2010 room in the attic and loved it. It was well-laid out with a comfortable bed, seating area, free wifi, closet and a huge bathroom. It was also air conditioned, which was much appreciated during the heat wave. I liked Joanne's artful way of displaying the washcloths (so they looked like a bouquet in a vase)...

this B and B is in a lovely quite area of Vancouver West. Our hostes, Joanne was very friendly and helpfulThe accomodation was modern and clean. We had the room with the seperate bathroom in a hallway but we did not find this problem. The breakfast was well presented and delicious although the promised yogurt was never forthcoming. Tea, coffee,...

As a first time user of B&B style accomodation I was somewhat hesitant. However from the moment I was welcomed by Joanne to the last gooodbye I felt comfortable and 'at home'. The accomodation was beautiful in a safe and leafy neighbourhood. Shared areas were well equipped with a lush garden for relaxing and some great personal touches such as...

More than a B&B, we felt like we were at a friends home. The common area was spacious and the backyard garden was very comfortable. We relaxed to watch some of the FIFA games on the large TV and couches. Breakfasts were hearty and tasty.

Staying in West Point Grey

Neighbourhood Profile
West Point Grey
West Point Grey is one of the city’s oldest neighbourhoods, especially known for its easygoing and admired beachfronts. Locals crowd the Spanish Banks and Jericho Beach, especially in the summer, where a sprawling view of the English Bay awaits. The central village is an oasis of sovereign shops, many of them in local operation for years. The neighbourhood has a more personal feeling to it, and can be a wonderful and much-needed break from the bustle of big-city life, being a little haven of peace and quiet with an almost village temperament in the heart of Vancouver.
