On a recent business trip to Victoria, friends and members of the Union Club arranged my stay there. I found it to be a very quiet and comfortable place. I did not have time to experience the common areas. My room was pleasant although a trifle crowded. The bed was very comfortable. The halls were quiet. It was a pleasure...

We love the Union Club. It is central to many tourist sights including the harbour and the museum, it is quiet, the rooms are clean and the beds and pillows comfortable. The facilities are excellent, including a superb reading room, dining and lounge areas. There is an old world charm to the hotel. The staff are helpful and friendly. There...

Central location, extremely friendly and helpful staff, very clean, well-provisioned and comfortable rooms and good dining and lounge facilities. Don't be put off by their apparent obsession with a dress code, it's all very pragmatic although this is probably going to suit the older person.

Dear JAST20, Thank you for the wonderful 5 star review! I am so happy that you found the Club comfortable, the service friendly and professional, and the location ideal. As with most private Clubs, The Union Club’s smart casual dress code allows for guests to still dress comfortably and appropriately for the season, while still maintaining a professional atmosphere. My main reason for returning to the Union Club is that it offers a British-style venue, especially in its public rooms. I especially enjoy the very large reading room with its genteel atmosphere and ample selection of periodicals. As other establishments renovate and diminish the presentation of their British heritage, I appreciate the Union Club for its support of Canada’s...

We will gladly stay at the Union Club again when we visit family in Victoria. The positives include central location; a nicely-maintained historic building; fully updated rooms and bathrooms with fine linens, towels and bedding; excellent food and service; kind and courteous staff, and facilities which include a workout room and (in season) a rooftop terrace . There was tremendous...

Liked this place, but so far in Victoria due to location, quiet room and comfortable bed. Good bar and a Library. A bit anachronistic - there is a dress code - no jeans - and I like that. Very helpful staff. Breakfast was mildly disappointing, just like all breakfasts I have ever had in Canada - so similar. I had...

The Union Club of British Columbia is an interesting mix of the old British Empire and the Freemasons. Strict operating procedures have been relaxed to permit us outsiders to stay here and experience the facilities, so coming from a military family background I did not bother about strict rules and regulations. The staff are helpful, skilful, and attentive. The basic...

I really enjoyed doing lunch with my fellow university student members of a political party club and the currently serving politicians. The classic interior decor and the company of the "high and mighty" in politics makes the entire buffet lunch feel like a high up summit of business, political, educational, and NGO movers and shakers. It would feel like a...
