Large 1883 Victoria house operated as high-style B&B by Joan Brown. She is friendly and welcoming for all, with over 20 years experience in this location. The non-smoking house is large and lovely, and decorated in high Victorian style. Breaksfasts are sumptuous and extremely good. Rooms are on both the main and upstairs floors. The walls are thick, so the...

Joan Brown’s B&B has a special significance to me. This is the house my Grandparents owned until the early 70’s and I stayed here in the 60’s & 70’s when we traveled from Seattle to visit. Joan has done an AMAZING job in returning the “Priory” to its former glory after years of various owners and half-finished remodels. On top...

Joan Brown's B&B has been my family's favourite place to stay in Victoria for 20 years. After not visiting Victoria for a few years, we recently stayed at Joan Brown's B&B and are happy to report that it is as good as ever. We love Joan's house - an elegant old mansion that is exquisitely decorated. Her breakfasts are to...

This B&B is located in a charming old home that is decorated with antiques and incredible chandeliers throughout the house and bedrooms. The king size bed was so comfortable that you would prefer to stay in bed all day. Each day the breakfast surpased the previous day. Joan Brown is an incredible cook.

I was looking for a special place to stay for a girls weekend with my daughters and mother, I'm so glad I chose Joan's. The moment we walked in, we were enchanted with the beautiful home and furnishings. Joan greeted us with a very personal and warm welcome. She was able to give us lots of ideas about things to...

We had the good fortune of discovering Joan Brown's B&B this month. A last minute trip was hastily thrown together and we arrived with little planning other than a ferry reservation to return to Vancouver the next day. Joan was so warm and friendly and her accommodation so lovely that we extended our stay to 3 days and nights. My...

We have stayed at Joan's wonderful B&B many times over the years and always love to return here when in Victoria. This time it was with my daughter and three granddaughters who thought they had died and gone to heaven in Joan's "mansion". The house is full of treasures and character from handmade quilts, beautiful furniture, comfortable beds, and a...

This a wonderful large historic home close to Craigdarroch castle and the Lt. Governor's mansion. Downtown is a few blocks away via Fort street (antique row). The breakfasts were sumptuous and delicious. We were greeted with a glass of wine or two after a hot bicycle ride in from the ferry. Thanks for the hospitality Joan!

I have stayed at many bed and breakfasts over the years. None bring together Joan's many qualities. The house is a historical treasure. The decor is tasteful and elegant, all the way from the garden to each spacious bedroom in the majestic house. No compromise has been made with comfort. I particularly appreciate the plush comfortable beds and great quality...

My husband and I stayed here on the recommendation of a friend of Joan's. We were uncomforable returning late at night as everyone appeared to be sleeping. We were disconcerted by the lack of locks on the door, TV, and telephone. The house is lovely and we were given the "grand tour". The breakfast while well presented was not to...
