I absolutely recommend this is a place to stay. We got a package which included a Chinese meal , absolutely delicious. Also, we use the spa services could not recommend us enough. If we could give it a higher than five star rating I would. We will be back again.
Very pleasant hosts. Very clean and tidy rooms which are a good size. The bathroom is separate and is clean, robes are provided. Good parking area and it is right on the river. Breakfast was excellent and well served. There is a Chinese restaurant 2 blocks away so not far to go for evening meal
My wife, Jo, and I recently travelled to Fredericton, NB for a square dance convention, then on to Cape Breton and then back to this B&B in Fredericton. Our hosts were very welcoming, friendly and very accommodating in our queries about restaurants, etc. Our room was fabulous. Loved the stroll to the St John's River at the rear of the property. Breakfasts was fabulous too, which started off our next day for us perfectly.
Looks lovely from the outside. We stayed in room 5 which had a lovely bathroom but the bedroom was a tad wierd. Long and narrow with 2 beds of different sizes and 2 plastic chairs to sit on. The was also a curtained off area with a desk and one chair overlooking the car park, and you could just about glimpse the river through the trees. Breakfast had to be pre ordered via post it notes the night before. The choices were the same each day, and the quality was very poor, not really up to standard. The house was not within walking distance of any of the town site's.
Super weird room. SUPER weird. I understand the compromises that need to be made when you divide up an old house to become a B&B (or an apartment building, or whatever). But our room was long and narrow and included 2 full sized beds. The beds were next to each other, and one was pushed against the wall. That bed happened to have the better mattress, so that was the one we slept in - however, for one of us to get out in the middle of the night, we had to crawl over the other, thus waking them up. So we wound up sleeping separately. The rest of the room includes 2 plastic chairs facing a wall with a mounted TV. And there is a tiny screened in porch with a chair for 1. A fridge for 1 can of soda. And no reading light. So useful for basically not much. For reading, you have the choice of the overhead light, or, one lamp. The house is meh. And its B&B furnishings are still meh. And what gets me is that their "welcome binder" in the room makes a point of asking for guest forgiveness, because this B&B is still a work in progress. (If I remember right, they are "only" 3 years old.) But I didn't feel like we were charged "work in progress" rates. We were charged proper rates. Also. Our room had bees in it. Bees. We reported them to the innkeeper and indicated that we had been the ones to pop a screen out of a window so that we could remove over 10 bees from the sunroom. He said the bees came in because the screen had been removed. Which, obviously, was not the way things had happened. We could see where they have sprayed expansion foam into the wall in an attempt to block the bees. Which were already in the room. Before we removed the screen. Anyway. Tub was LOVELY. Shower was cheap, but a creative solution. But still, one of those plastic shower trays that dimple when you walk on them. But the tub was lovely. (Even if you couldn't remove the plus without considerable effort because the spring was broken.) In all, overpriced. Disappointed. Not what I could call a B&B. We slipped out before breakfast because we just didn't want to be there any longer.…
Our room on the 2nd floor was large with nice big bathroom. The breakfast in the beautiful dining room was very good and filling. Coral and her husband were very hard-working, friendly and informative. By the River is a really great spot to stay and good value.
We totally enjoyed our overnight stay in this lovely, heritage home. The owners have done a fabulous job of renovating and the furnishings are very comfy. Lots of parking available.Breakfast was also really great. The house is located right on the St. John River and there is a path from the house that leads down to the water. My only regret is that we didn’t go swimming! Would certainly recommend this place.
We had planned to stay here on a trip through New England and Canada but unfortunately a positive covid test prevented us from entering Canada. We made the painful choice to change our plans and isolate in Maine until return travel was ok. We made this decision based on Canadian law and human decency and hoped the hotel would follow; They did not (I even got an extra PCR lab test to confirm). To be honest it was in their written policy that no refunds but putting greed & policy ahead of doing the right thing sucks. Shame on you.
The room was comfortable but we never could get the A/C to work. Had to leave a window open and the traffic noise is really LOUD😖 TV selection is extremely limited unless you have accounts with Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. The TV is a Roku and the remote doesn’t work very well. Breakfast was good but interesting. Blueberry French Toast casserole was tasty. Eggs Benedict was unusual- included cucumber slices. Overall, not a bad place. Just extremely noisy.
This place is exceptional! Charming old home - tons of character, beautifully restored. Close to downtown, free parking and breakfast is included. Our room was very spacious, comfortable King sized bed, and updated bathroom. Minor downside it was a shared bar fridge in the hallway. The hosts were very pleasant and accommodating! A gourmet breakfast - several options - we both had the eggs Benedict with fresh fruit & yogurt, orange juice and excellent coffee! All table severed in the main floor dining room. We’ll definitely stay here again and highly recommend this property!
