I chose Lord Beaverbrook because of good reviews, but I discovered several problems there. Both of the elevators were out of service when I tried them, although the staff helped out and took me up a service elevator. When I got to the room, the key wouldn't work. Again, the staff was helpful and showed up within a couple minutes with a working key. The parking lot was very full at 11pm at night, and I almost couldn't find a spot. The room was very nice, large and clean and well-maintained. There was quite a bit of noise in the halls, and I could hear the elevator (I was near it) many times. I suppose not all of these things are the hotel's fault, but there were way too many glitches for a "fancy" hotel.

I stayed at the Lord Beaverbrook for two nights while in Fredericton for business. The room was pleasant enough albeit with disproportionately small windows given the size of the room and the potential for a lovely view of the river. The room was comfortable and clean. My colleagues and I booked a small meeting room for the purpose of having a video call with clients in other parts of Canada. The internet was woefully slow and made the call almost useless. I cannot understand how a hotel that's part of the IHG chain could have such pathetic internet in 2022.

My son and I just stayed at the Lord Beaverbrook while he was visiting UNB for a college tour. The desk manager was an alum and upgraded our room. We loved the location near the river walk and downtown Fredericton, makes for a magical evening walk. The hotel is always clean and the lobby - my favorite part - exudes historic grandeur. When we visit from Maine, this is my favorite place to stay!

Hotel was nice 85% of staff was very nice, wasn't happy with our room charges booked on line said $169.00, when checked out $300.00 a night showed paper work said that booking.com prices not our problem, never go there again also breakfast was $50.00 for 2 adults wasn't good at all

First off, we booked a 2 bath riverview suite, we were given a one bath city view suite, same price. Called the front desk, was connected to a dismissive kid, who told me you get what you get because you used 3rd party booking partner. I insisted a call from the manager, he called and gave me a big story about demand. I told him I booked a certain class of room and if he couldn't supply, don't charge me for it, adjust the price. He agreed, but it still cost me $200 extra. 2nd, the breakfast is $36 for a couple and it is cold eggs, cold waffles, and some other dried out bread and pastries. I have had better free lobby breakfasts. We paid $72 extra for 2 nights. The hotel is dirty, we like using the stairs.This hotel back stairway is so dirty , grease from the back kitchen is half inch thick on some of the stair treads. The place is gross. Our sink is plugged, our garbage cans we full when we checked in. The staff at this hotel is obviously beat up from customer complaints. They look like a deer in the headlights when you complain. It must be a terrible place to work. Worst $1000 I ever spent for 2 nights. Hope they get this place back to good health.…

We paid extra to stay downtown but the state of this hotel made this a very disappointing stay. For a start, this does not look like any Crowne Plaza I have ever stayed at. I am not sure that I can even think of a Holiday Inn in as poor a state as this. The attached image shows our room from the outside. Can you believe that this is a Crowne Plaza? Everything is old and tatty. In addition, the room was extremely dirty. A dust cloud came off the blind when we first touched it. One coffee cup contained some unknown black substance and the bathroom floor had several bits of filth from previous occupants. When we tried to get to sleep around midnight, we soon realised that the room offered very little in the way of sound insulation. The couple next door were talking and we could here every single word. Finally at 2am they finished up and we could get some sleep. On the plus side, the breakfast was good but I will certainly not be staying here again!…

Good location on the main street for restaurants and what few attractions they are. Good views over the river if get a waterfront room (assume you have to pay extra for those). Room of a high standard and modern bathroom, we had 2 king size beds comfy beds in our standard room. Charge for car parking but to be expected in a city.

My wife, Jo, and I recently travelled to Fredericton, NB for a square dance convention. The hotel team was very welcoming, friendly and very accommodating in our queries about restaurants, etc. Over four nights, our room was fabulous. Loved the location, since it was across the street from the Convention Centre as well as within walking distance to restaurants and other venues.

There was a party and musical concert being held in the room next to mine and the front desk didn’t seem to be that interested in doing anything about it. As the hotel was basically full there wasn’t a suitable room to move to. Just terrible guest service. Whatever was good about the hotel was ruined by the noise in the next room & the lack of attention by the front desk.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel last week on our way home to Halifax from the US for the night. I must add that my husband is an IHG Diamond Club member and stays at IHG hotels exclusively for his work travel. He booked a room with his points, a standard room. A short while later, he received a message indicating that he/we were upgraded to a king suite! Nice! Or so we thought. We checked in around 6:30 pm and went to our room #118. I immediately noticed the strong odour of dog. There were tumbling clumps of dog hair and a used bar of soap in the shower. The room/suite was huge with a living room, bedroom and bathroom which included a beat up jacuzzi tub. The room was partially underground and located by the side door entrance so there were lots of people outside the windows. The room was very dark, dingy and dated. I would much rather have had a standard room on an upper floor than this supposed “upgraded” suite. We will definitely not stay at this hotel again and if you get assigned room 118. I’d run! We did, however, enjoy a beautiful meal at the next door restaurant, Isaac’s Way, and I highly recommend it!…
