We had an amazing time camping here for three nights. We experienced two sites due to booking an additional night because our kids were having so much fun.

Book a night overlooking the river if you can it was beautiful

We have twin 3.5 year olds and the pool kept them busy and us for three full days.

The campground is exceptionally clean. The pool bathrooms were being regularly cleaned. They leave a trash bin and recycle bin at the end of your site and is cleaned up each day

The pool was exceptionally run with regular switch up of lifeguards. The bike trail was great. Playground could use an upgrade but the kids were having so much fun at the pool we didn’t use it much

For all the campers complaining of flies...yes there are flies ..bring a fly stick to catch them and close your tent or camper door. You are in the outdoors so there are bound to be insects.

We will be back!!!

Staff Experience:

We spent the weekend here and rented one of the group sites. We called the park after booking to confirm we were allowed to have additional tents and it was no problem, also informed me of the additional charges. When we arrived, the staff was extremely ignorant about our additional tents. I had to listen to 20 minutes of complaining about it and how people think they can just show up with "bus loads" of people (We were NOT over their "limit" per site, nor were we informed of a limit prior to arriving). I told them how many in each tent and ages, they couldn't seem to grasp it and asked over and over. I also received a few very evident eye rolls. These two woman I dealt with should not be in customer service. Unfortunately one of them seem to have been a manager, possibly an owner? A friend of mine and her family also received the same treatment upon arrival because they also had a group site for their family. Never in my life have I felt so belittled by staff, until coming here. Like we were a complete inconvenience for them.

Fly Eperience:

Before we could even get our tent trailer put together, there were 20-30 house flies inside already. They were EVERYWHERE. Even with the screen rooms, they'd get inside when people went in and out. It was impossible to keep them off your food. Just sitting at the camp site, they would be all over you. They were all over the ground at the pool. We had to buy the sticky fly traps for inside and out. They were completely cover in a half hour. I've never seen anything like it.

Park Experience:

One issue is the bathrooms. There is ONE facility with 5 (maybe 6?) toilets for over 100 camp sites.
The mini golf was fun, certainly not monitored at all.
The pool area is awesome for the kids, could be a little cleaner. We did notice old food stuck to the concrete in areas which doesn't help with their fly situation.

Over all, the kids had an amazing time and that is the only reason I gave it 3 stars. A little better upkeep and staff alteration, this park could be a 5 in my books. So I won't count it out just yet.

We stayed here for one night. Sites are nice and wide. Each site has its own garbage can. Internet is excellent but we were right next to the router which is on the shower/washroom/laundromat building. Unlimited use of waterpark and mini golf is included in the price of $70. For our needs as a couple, it was too expensive as we have paid about $42/night on average at other campgrounds throughout the Maritimes

Great for families with kids. I think it is extremely overpriced for an RV park. There are no services available such as internet or cable. Washrooms were full of young kids who had been swimming. If you like to swim in a crowded pools with kids, this is your place, if you are looking for nature and peace and quiet, move along to another destination. Very noisy well into the evening. Was an experience but won't be back.

I was forced to leave a terrible review for Twin Shores in PEI, so thought it only fitting to leave a positive review for those who deserve it...

And Hartt Island DEFINITELY deserves it!! the place is super clean, family friendly, water park is great for small kids and adults. Camper lots are a great size, far enough away from your neighbors so you won't disturb anyone.

This was my first experience with Hartt Island, will not be our last! It will be a regular on our camping rotation!!!

Stunning location for an RV park. Right on the Saint John River, the view was just gorgeous. Sites were level. Restrooms were very good, the showers especially so! There’s a walking/cycling trail that runs right by, along the river edge. We were here after the water park had closed for the season, so I can’t comment on that.

Third time visiting, the place is meh but my kids love the pool. Staff at the registration counter are rude every single time. Being busy is no excuse, the guy was unbelievable. A bit of courtesy goes a long way!

We camped at Hartt Island at the end of June when attending graduation in Fredericton for our college student. The day-time park use was limited because of a private rental for a school-group, and that was disappointing since we weren't aware of that ahead of time. However, the previous evening, our kids and one other family were the only kids enjoying the waterpark, and they had a blast! The campsites are easy to get into. The river is pretty. We didn't do mini-golf. While it is aging, it still looked like fun! The employees I spoke with were courteous and helpful. We would stay here again.

We stayed at this campsite in August 2013 on our way to the East Coast. We travel to the East annually and thought we would try a different campground. I booked over the phone about a month ahead of time with no problems. We are pretty easy going and easy to please. We have a large 5th wheel with slides on both sides. I always make this very clear when booking. Our assigned site was in the section on the far side of the swimming pool area. It was a pull through, however someone was using part of the drive through as a spot to park their extra car. No problem, my husband is capable of backing into any site. The site was long enough even with the neighbour’s car parked in our site. Most of sites in this section of the campground the sites were crammed together. The width of the campsites is so narrow that you almost sit right next to the next trailer. With just barely enough room for the picnic table in between trailers. We enjoy cooking and eating outside after all we are camping. To say it is not pleasant to just have enough room between your trailer and the neighbour to just set your chair and your BBQ. The neighbouring sewer hookup was mere feet away from our picnic table as there was not enough room to move the table one way or another. Forget having a campfire, our neighbours would have been eating the smoke. It's clear this park is in transition and they are making what looks like huge upgrades. The pool area looks fantastic. However we did not use the pool as we were not willing to pay $15 a piece (4 adults) just to have a quick dip to cool down after a long day on the road. This was one more reason; I can’t give this campground a higher rate. Perhaps a plain swimming pool for the campers to have access to, be included in their camp fee would solve this issue that many reviewers have mentioned. My third issue is the restrooms were filthy. There is no excuse for not having washrooms clean. If the campground is busy, more staff is needed, so be it. While my daughter was out walking her son around the campsite, went to use the restroom. She said it was so filthy that she couldn’t use it and had to jog back to our trailer. The next morning the washrooms were still in the same condition. I’m really sorry Hart Island we won’t be back.

We tent camped. It dumped rain the whole time. So we ended up in a hotel. I had already written a check for all 3 nights. I offered to pay for the night we stayed in the tent. They cashed my check for all 3 nights. I've tried several emails and phone calls to get my money back. No replies from them. I felt that they have been dishonest. I would never recommend this place.

No, we're sorry we don't have cottages or trailers for rent, only sites. However some local RV sales stores have rentals that you can rent and they will deliver it here and hook it up for you. If you’re interested you can call RV World at 1-866-768-7700.
