Detailed Reviews
I stayed twice at this Inn in August 2023. Before and after my Cycling Vacation with Freewheeling Adventures. 5 nights in total.
Cindy & John (the Inn Keepers) made me feel at home.
Lots of good banter and fantastic available treats in the lobby near the Guest Fridge, along with always available coffee.
The bed was extremely comfortable and I loved the fact I could sleep with the window open. A very quiet residential area. Homemade treats on the bed upon check-in.
My private washroom was across the hall from my room and was very clean and well equipped.
I enjoyed the homemade hot and cold selections for breakfast (included) and local NFLD menu items. Guests select Breakfast entries the night before.
The 'Guest Living Room' has an antique Pump Organ and Cindy treated me to some private tunes on it. Even took a request!
Guests also have access to the backyard with chairs, sofas and tables. A great spot to take coffee or beer.
This a 'shoe free' establishment and homespun take home slippers are supplied to guests. Shoes stay in the entrance lobby.
Only a 15 minute walk to downtown and 45 minute stroll to Signal Hill. I would not hesitate to return.

Our stay at the Georgetown Inn reflected the true and original spirit of a Bed and Breakfast establishment. Our hosts, Cindy and John, live on the premises and will treat you as an honoured guest during your stay with them. They go out of their way to provide a stress free home, offering amazing comfort and tasty and elegant breakfasts, along with local knowledge and advice.
The location is quiet and easy to find and is close to all of Saint Johns ‘must dos’ and John is generous with his time to direct you. Cindy has her home beautifully organized for your comfort and wellbeing and was gracious and welcoming throughout our stay. During the reservation process she was open and frank about what to expect from Nora’s Room, her ‘coziest’ room and about the Inn itself. The extra time in the reservation process really highlights that this is their home as well as an Inn.
This is a charming home for the discerning traveller. The Georgetown Inn and your time spent in Saint John’s will not disappoint.

We just returned from a lovely stay at the Georgetown Inn. This historical property has been lovingly (and beautifully) renovated, and the result is a home that is fresh, sophisticated, warm and welcoming. We stayed in Beth's suite, and had the best sleep we've had in ages. The made to order breakfast is sumptuous (delicious fish cakes!), and Cindy and John are friendly and hospitable. A stay at their property is truly a treat, and we feel like we have stumbled upon a gem that we just had to share.

Cindy and John are BEST KIND! We enjoyed a stay at Georgestown Inn and wish it could have been longer because it felt like home. Cindy and John made us feel relaxed and like family the moment we arrived and their warmth, kindness and humour abounds and this is the only place in St. John's that we will stay. The Teresa Suite is divine and spacious and I loved having Cindy's Nan's quilt on the bed in front of the fireplace. The whole Inn is impeccably clean and we appreciated all of the special touches especially in the bathroom like the soft soft towels, the hand cream, the micellar water and bath salts. The full bespoke breakfasts were filling and delicious and John's homemade sausage is a must try as are the toutons and Cindy's jams - heavenly delish! We were full each day and didn't need to eat until supper time. Cindy and John helped with places to eat and to see and their recommendations were spot on every time - trust them because they know! We loved the nighttime homemade snacks (mug up) and the jams and the stories we all shared. We will carry our wonderful, adventurous, friendly Newfoundland memories with us always and Cindy and John are a big part of them. Much gratitude to Cindy and John and cannot wait to visit again!

My daughter and I had a wonderul time at Georgestown Inn. Cindy and John were gracious hosts who made sure their inn had fine details for comfort and hospitality...from delightful homemade treats and breakfast, to warm slippers greeting you at the front door. We stayed in Nan's room, very comfortable beds with up to date amenities. They are warm and friendly and portray care for their guests by sharing historical facts about their beautiful home, family stories and welcoming my daughter, a MUN student, as a couple they can always turn to should there be any need. We will definitely be back at this beautiful home and do encourage you to stay here. You will not regret it.

This is one of the best B&Bs I have ever stayed in. Cindy and John take very care to make sure the guests are well taken care of, well fed and happy. We stayed for three nights with our little daughter.
The breakfast is custom made to every guest, with homemade and local recipes, and is great way to start the day. The Inn is located very close to the downtown and can walk to most places. Cindy and John are very friendly and go out of their way to help. Thanks for making this stay a memorable part of our trip to St. John’s. We will be back someday and highly recommended if you are in St. John’s!

On a recent family trip to St. John's we had the good fortune to stay at Cindy and John's Georgetown Inn. It was the best decision we could have made. The hosts were friendly and welcoming and the house itself was beautiful. We had two rooms, Theresa's suite which has an ensuite and Nan's room which has a private bath located across the hall. Both were fabulous. Robes and slippers were provided. The beds were so comfortable that you really didn't want to get out of bed in the morning. When you did you were provided with a lovely breakfast served at a time you requested. The breakfasts were delicious. The extras like fresh cookies and tea were unexpected and much appreciated. We will definitely be staying with Cindy and John on our next trip to St. John's.

Had a wonderful 3 night stay in July 2022! Cindy and John were so great, helpful with things to do and places to eat. The location was perfect, if you are active the downtown is walkable, or just a short taxi ride if you are not into walking. This was our last stop on our trip and it was a wonderful way to finish our vacation. Breakfast... made to order. There was always a nice treat and coffee available in the foyer. We had such great conversations.

+1
Gorgeous Bed and Breakfast in beautiful part of the city in St John’s Newfoundland. Went to St John’s for a friend’s wedding. Very short notice and fortunately I was able to get a room here at this remarkable inn. Proprietors Cindy and John are fantastic, friendly and knowledgeable. Inn has been beautifully renovated while still keeping the historic charms. Rooms are beautifully appointed and beds and linens are perfect. Bathrooms have great showers and or baths. I was lucky to have a room with both. Charming hosts and great sense of humour. Bed and Breakfast is truly a delightful mix of Newfoundland and Great Britain. Breakfasts are made to order and let me tell you their breakfasts and homemade jams and baked goods are delicious. Ofcourse I ate way too much. :) I loved my stay here so very peaceful and you are truly made to feel at home. It was everything I could ever wish for in a bed and breakfast and my stay felt very dream like. Our great talks and my stay there had to be my favourite part of my trip. I have stayed in many inns and b and b’s and no one does it better than you two. I’ll definitely be coming back. Thanks again.

Came across the inn by chance as was looking for a hotel to book when the Georgestown inn popped up and so glad we stayed there. Cindy and John were phenomenal hosts. They were attentive, helpful and made you truly feel like you were a visiting relative rather than a guest in a room. Not only were their suggestions for where to visit on point but they made a point of of ensuring things went smoothly - from giving one of our party ginger candies to help with potential motion sickness on the boat we were going to take for whale watching, to dinner suggestions. The inn itself had the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, and the cleanliness, proximity to downtown , and made to order breakfast all made this one of the best places I've stayed. Highly highly recommend.
