Detailed Reviews
Staff are very friendly and helpful. My room was absolutely gorgeous and the outside balcony was an unexpected bonus. Both the hotel and my room were sparkling clean. My room was well lit and having the option to open the door or window during the day to let fresh air in the room was appreciated.
One of my only complaints is the "breakfast" that's served. I went downstairs the first morning I was there. Breakfast options included juice boxes, digestive cookies, granola bars, muffins (very tiny) and clementines that were roughly the side of a golf ball. Every other hotel I've stayed at that had a "continental breakfast" included had some protein filled options (yogurt, cheese, milk, etc.), cereal options (hot and cold), a variety of fruit and in some places even toast. Oh, and coffee...there's always coffee and tea! This was a major disappointment for me because I was in town to study for/write an exam and I specifically chose a hotel with breakfast included to maximize my study time there...and also so I could have a nice, filling meal before my exam. I opted to pop to Sobey's to get some oatmeal and yogurt for myself and didn't even go downstairs the 2nd, 3rd or 4th morning I was there. A place to sit down and eat breakfast (other than your room) would have also been a nice addition, everything was set up on a small table next to the check-in desk.
The location is not the most convenient if you're planning on spending time downtown or in Airport Heights area but great for Costco trips and shopping around Paradise. Another minor inconvenience was the fact that the ice machine was on the main level, meaning anyone on the second floor has to go downstairs just for ice.

Really appreciated the friendly welcome and the nearly brand new hotel. Too bad there is no dining room, but the box lunch style breakfast got us on the road. The location is on the outskirts of St. John's with quick access to main arteries.

Don’t let the industrial area put you off….it’s centrally located to all the highlights Cape Spear,Signal Hill the Irish loop and the TCH
Free laundry..beautifully clean…and handicap rooms…which is hard to find in NL!
The manager couldn’t do enough for us. Definitely staying here next visit!

Start with a terrible smell in the room. Cross between wet dog and old vacuum cleaner. Website indicated a restaurant on site, there is no restaurant. The breakfast consisted of a prepacked muffin, and not very fresh and choice of beverage. Staff was hmmmm there that is all I am going to say about it. Booked in for 7 days and we managed to stay one night. When we checked out 6 days early no one asked why we were checking out.

Room was spacious, clean., and lots of towels . We had a pet friendly room but except for a few scratches on the door we would not have known we were in the pet friendly room.(we did have our dog with us). The only unprofessional thing I saw was that while the front desk clerk was answering a question for me the manager was in her office yelling at the clerk to do something rather then coming out of the office and saying excuse me. Front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. Melissa in housekeeping thank you. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and most certainly will stay there again.

Nice clean rooms. The awesome staff is very helpful and friendly. We were treated like family.
Free laundry and detergent.
Bottom outlet by the bed did not work.
Towel Sets good. Shower good. Price was reasonable when compared to St. John's.

Crossroads was a very clean, well maintained motel. It is one of the few that offer laundry facilities. The women at the front desk were very pleasant and most helpful. They gave me tips on how to more easily get into St. John's, the capital of Newfoundland. The room was a good size and it was spotless. It was a little more expensive than I wanted but given the care taken by the staff & owners it was a good place to stay.

I would have given this place a 5 except that they allow people to smoke on the balcony of a non smoking motel????? If you want to sit out on the balcony you have to endure second hand smoke from other visitors. If your air conditioning comes on it sucks the air in from outside and brings in the smoke smell of people smoking on balconies. No smoking should mean no smoking. The breakfast is unbeatable! The motel is clean and very comfortable.

made two separate bookings months in advance: a One Nighter in the St.Johns area for the day we arrived by air and Two more nights at the end of our 10 day tour of " the Rock".
We booked directly with staff of the motel by phone and email. often the best way to get best rate.
The quoted $131 daily rate, with taxes became $ 150+ per night.
We stayed the first night and were happy with the room albeit, small.
New, clean, tidy but in an industrial area about a 20-30 minute drive from downtown. Went walking but nothing out there except for a bar/ grill on the motel property, then just storage lots and truck parks.
We left on a 10 day roadtrip the next am.
We returned to our 2 final nights booking about 9 days later in late July.
We had booked the last 2 nights about 3 months prior at the same rate but after checking in, I checked the Online Travel sites (3) and they were quoting rooms for our two nights at $105 - $ 108.
I went to the desk and found the night clerk and explained that the 3 sites were now quoting $105 ($120 taxes in) and that I felt we should get a reduction in our " all in" rate of $ 150 per night..that we were being charged an extra $ 30 per night=$ 60.00 in total. The clerk asked if I had booked directly with the property and I advised that I had done just that and I was surprised when his reply was: well you booked at $131 ($151) so thats what you re going to be charged. He didn't care if the online sites were quoting $30 less per night..HE HAD US and our card number. In the past,
I ve never found a business that wouldn't honor an advertised sale price when the customer was going to end up being OVERCHARGED..well I guess I have now. Maybe thats how they do it in NL but not where we're from.
Once we got home, I wrote to the hotel explaining the above but over a month later, there has been No Reply, So
If you dont mind being ripped off, call these guys..but be aware!

Walls were very thin! Someone in the room next to us was talking at 3am until 6am. Although you couldn't hear what they were saying it was enough noise to keep one awake. I also like my room dark, there are black out blinds on the window but the doors onto the balcony or patios have internal blinds which let the light through and make the rooms quite light.
That said there is lots of parking and clean new motel rooms Breakfast included and good location for highway.
