I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Narrows Bed and Breakfast, and my only regret is not having stayed longer. There is no better location to stay while visiting St. John's, as the house is equidistant to Water Street and the Rooms, and you'll be hard pressed to find anyone more in the know about what to do while visiting Newfoundland. The varied breakfasts each morning kept me going on the East Coast Trail each day, and provided an opportunity to exchange stories with other guests, and it was especially nice to be able to see the harbour from bed! Big shout out to Ann (and Lisa) for all her help and kindness during my stellar stay. Hope to be back soon!

We enjoyed 4 nights at the Narrows which was located in a beautiful traditional 'jellybean' neighbourhood in downtown St. John's. Easily accessible to restaurants and just down the hill from the Basilica and The Rooms. As others have commented, Ann's hospitality was wonderful... from the great breakfasts to the helpful tips to the easy going flow of conversation that gave us a terrific introduction to the sights and culture of Newfoundland. Highly recommended.

We stayed at the B&B for 4 nights. We loved everything about this place! Our room was clean, spacious, had a great view of the harbour and had everything we needed! Our hostess Ann was full of information! She was very helpful in answering our questions before our arrival. She also helped us figure out where we might want to go each day based on the weather for the day and the forecast. We enjoyed everything we did! The location was within walking distance to all our city needs. Breakfast was different each morning and delicious. Her attractive "jelly bean home' was extremely well appointed with lovely furnishings and local art pieces. We will definitely return to this cute little gem!

The Narrrows is situated close to everything. The hosts are more than accommodating. They were able to hold on to our luggage after checkout so we could still tour St.Johns before our flight home. The breakfasts were a 10/10 both for the quality and quantity of the food but also how amazing it is to be able to talk to the hosts and other travellers.

Our hostess Ann was welcoming, helpful and provided us with a clean , spacious room to enjoy our 3 day visit. Location was within walking distance to all our city needs. Breakfast was most adequate and Ann's personal helpfulness was greatly appreciated. Her attractive "jelly bean home' was extremely well appointed with lovely furnishings and local art pieces.

The Narrows B&B in St. John's Newfoundland is awesome. Very strategically centered in Jelly Bean Row. Close to everything. Can even trek to Signal Hill. Restaurants, museums, Pubs, are all with in walking distance.

The best feature are the people - Ann and Lisa are friendly, helpful, kind hosts. The breakfasts are like homemade and different each morning. They both provide helpful tips and will book whale watching tours and cabs for you.

6 stars out of 5!

This was our second time staying at the Narrows B&B. The hostess, Ann, and her helper Lisa were as fun and accommodating as ever. This is a wonderful place to stay and you are within walking distance of everything downtown St. John's has to offer. Thanks again Ann and Lisa for a wonderful stay... your place is a treasure and sure adds to the charm of downtown St. John's.

Not the best experience. We booked 3 nights which we booked a year in advance. When we got there, there was a note on our bed apologizing that the next day they were moving us to another room. Not convenient. The rooms were worn and not the cleanest. We also did not see any fire detectors in the rooms. It looked like they had been taken out.
Maybe we overlooked them.
The breakfasts were mediocre at best. I booked this place because of the reviews. I just don't get it. Maybe it's because the other B&B's we stayed were superb. It was also the most expensive but that could be it's in the city. The only reason I gave it a 3 instead of a 2 is the location was terrific.

Sorry but sometimes things happen having to move we try our best not to but certain predictions pop up. As for smoke detectors the house is hard wired with smoke detectors on each floor which is checked yearly by the fire department

Stayed at this spotless B&B for 4 nights. The location is absolutely perfect for site seeing and walking downtown. It is also close to the infamous George Street and a reasonable walk back after an evening out. The host, Ann, met all expectations without fail!
