We found this place on the internet, looking for a place near Louisbourg, and for a visit there it is perfect. We had dinner in Sydney and drove out to the B&B, which was a bit hard to find even with a GPS. The host Terry was very welcoming and we had two nice bedroms to ourselves, including a nice...

Terry was the ultimate host! He greeted us with a warm welcome and was very personable. The accomodations were very clean and inviting, with a beautiful deck that overlooks the lake. Terry took our breakfast orders when we had arrived and made it right to order the next morning. Our conversations with Terry were very stimulating, a very warm and...

This place has beautiful views. Terry is very welcoming and eager to please. Breakfast is cooked to order. Wake up for the sunrise! It's worth it! With a shared bath and only three sleeping areas, this place seems to work best for larger parties who are comfortable with each other. It would be alittle awkward to share a bath with...

We wanted to find a place close to the Mira River in order to visit friends. There were three of us, one couple, and one adult. The unit that we occupied is on the ground floor with a direct entrance/exit facing the Mira River. Very peaceful, serene and comfy. Terry was the most wonderful host and he made us feel...

Beautiful view of the river with a small terraced garden. The Host , Terry Crawley, makes you feel like your Dad or uncle making breakfast and visiting while you enjoy the hummingbirds and lupines. Bed and all facilities clean and very comfortable. Rooms are small European style. A tranquil, relaxing ,and welcoming place.

This B&B is gorgeous. There are two rooms with an adjoining living area and bathroom. We were the only ones there so had the space all to ourselves. There are outdoor decks and you can swim in the Mira off the dock down by the river. The owner Terry Crawley treats guests very well and cooks amazing breakfasts. Our conversations...

I stayed in "On The Mira" in spring 2011, and it was one of the most charming places I've been in while traveling. It's a very personable, friendly atmosphere and lovely rooms. The view is worth a visit as it is a direct look onto the river and over the house's garden. It's quiet and gorgeous. In early spring everything...

Stayed for two nights early October 2011. A two-storey house on the banks of the beautiful Mira River at Albert Bridge, halfway between Sydney and Louisbourg. The whole of the bottom floor is available to rent and the well-fitted lounge opens on to a sun-terrace and garden overlooking the river. Excellent for boating, canoeing, kayaking and swimming, but if you...

Our accommodations overlook the Mira River. It is a terraced property going down to the water; the there is lots of shrubbery and flowers. The water is brackish at this part of the river. Its a great place to relax and catch your breath. If you have a canoe or kayak bring it with you, if not you can rent locally. I am 15 minutes from Sydney and Louisbourg. ... more   less

“We stayed downstairs in the 2 bedroom suite downstarirs. Only one or two other rooms available. I did not see them, and cannot comment. Our bedrooms were small but nice. No AC that I saw.?. Fans - but we did not need them in Nova Scotia July.”

“Both bedrooms are fitted-out lovely but there is a choice between the 'sunny' room which is painted yellow and the room is bathed in sunshine from early morning, or the 'sleepy' room which is cooler, calmer colours and partially shady.”
