I have been here before and adored it with my spouse, but we didn't stay long when we traveled with our teens. Internet is not consistent throughout the building, breakfasts aren't entirely kid-friendly, and the rooms aren't tremendously spacious. If you're traveling as a couple, however, I'd call the rooms 'intimate' and 'very comfortable'. And being in downtown Halifax for...

We had a two-night stay at The Lord Nelson and enjoyed a nice (about to be renovated) suite overlooking The Public Gardens. Any staff we talked to were very polite and most helpful. The power did go off in a storm for about three hours, but no big deal. Didn't eat at the hotel. Room 419 overlooks the park and...

My son made the reservation, March 13th, for one night and my wife asked for two single beds. This request was like pulling teeth. Eventually they agreed after my wife insisted. That night, the heat in the room went off, and my wife and I froze. We piled our beds with clothes to keep warm. There were no blankets, just...

The Lord Nelson is a 1920's hotel that has been updated for a new century. The lobby retains it's old school look as does the Arm's restaurant. It is upstairs where the new comes in. The rooms have been modernized and updated. My room had a king size bed with plenty of pillows. The bathroom had all new fixtures and...

Historic hotel with updated rooms. Service was great. We did not stay with pets but I saw a few large dogs in the hotel, which is fabulous! Rooms were very clean. Nice continental breakfast but very pricey.

HUGE room! Very clean and spectacular service at check in. I only spent one night, and my only complaint is the price of parking but it's what I was expecting for any downtown hotel. I wasn't a fan of the Nespresso coffee maker but I'm more of a plain coffee kind of guy. I loved the location as once I...

The staff at the front desk are rude and nasty..the hotel rooms are small and dingy. I was expecting better service and rooms for the Lord Nelson. .I would never stay here again.. the only advantage is ..it is close to some great restaurants

We stayed at the Lord Nelson Hotel Feb. 20 - 24th - we were there on a work convention. The standard room we booked stated in the description that there is a desk. The room contained two very comfortable beds, a nightstand, a dresser, TV and a fridge. There was no desk or even a chair to sit on. I...

I travel to Halifax once a month from cape breton for a medical appointment that will be a continuance for the next three and a half years every month. I chose the lord nelson hotel because of its location to my appointment and because I loved how the hotel looked and its history. My first stay seemed great and I...

This hotel is very old but has been updated in a nice way. The location is pretty good but if it's during rush hour it can be difficult getting there and parking is s bit of a pain. My room was good. The breakfast in the hotel restaurant was delicious. I would stay here again.
