We really enjoyed our week here. The staff were very kind and helpful; we had a good rapport with Sergio. You have to bear in mind that this is not a town centre Hilton, its a former hermitage, up on a hillside. We loved the views and its quirkiness. It's full of history and the rooms are of varying sizes,...

The one thing that this hotel does is to evoke different feelings throughout one's stay, and for that reason alone it needs to be judged as a very interesting place to stay, in a good way. Let's start with the positives first. It's location is breathtaking, and the outdoor dining area has a spectacular view over Spoleto and the countryside....

I did not do my homework. While the property is indeed historic and beautifully preserved, getting there is a nightmare. With a steep cliff on one side and jutting banks on the other, we feared for our car and our necks. The welcome is warm and generous, but we felt marooned here. We would not dream of venturing out for...

The Eremo is really a site worth visiting if only for its beautiful views of Spoleto. The hotel itself is quite lovely - filled with antiques and old tomes, long carpeted hallways, wonderful paintings, vintage lamps, etc. The rooms are charming and comfortable. Breakfast was a bountiful treat in the morning: wonderful fresh apple fritters, juices, fruits, cheeses, salami, pastries,...

We are still congratulating ourselves on our choice of Eremo Delle Grazie for our visit to Spoleto. I found the hotel offerings in Spoleto uninspiring so looked for something different - Eremo Delle Grazie is that - atmospheric ancient buildings set in wonderful hillside woodlands, readily accessible by car and also great walking paths (only 20 minutes to Spoleto via...

The hotel was converted from an old monastery and a portion of the St Francis pilgrim trail to Assisi is nearby. It is such a dramatic setting and yet only about 10 minutes to Spoleto by car. We were offered the Cardinal Suite which oozed character, was very spacious, well appointed and luxurious with fine towels and toiletries. The Eremo...

We recently spent 4 days in the Eremo delle Grazie, a hotel converted from an old monastery, full of character but very comfortable indeed, It is approached along a winding 3km road and then a narrow gravel track so you will need a car to get there. It is wonderfully peaceful and quiet. The view from the terrace and the...

This hotel / restaurant is wonderful. The history goes back 1500 years. Some of the rooms are converted from monks' cells of the previous monastery, but all look very comfortable. The view from the terrace overlooking the plain of Spoleto is magnificent. The food and local wines are varied and good. Valeria's family have owned this for years and she...

Peaceful and romantic ancient place. You have everything up to your standard. Cozy, natural and quite. The best Italian food in our Italian food experience. We have 3 nights with all fabulous dinner and breakfast. Very homey of everything. We really missed the view, weather, trees and food.

“The cardinal room was great, wonderful views, an ante room painted with grotto frescoes, a room with a couch, and a large bedroom. Good view but you have to open the shutters, and definitely furniture and decor are very antique.”
