Considering that my visit to Guelph wasn't planed, and that I booked late Friday, I consider myself lucky to find a decent accommodation without any problem. Shopping centre and free parking are an asset.

With rates of almost $200 per night, one would expect more,or better, from management when issues raised. With some sort of sports event in Guelph, hotels in the area raised nightly rates significantly, and hotels were booked full. While standing in the lobby, I overheard another customer raising issue to the management about the insistent noise and discomfort with unsupervised youth running up and down halls and being loud. The managers response to that complaint: “Do you want to go somewhere else?” Seriously? Knowing there’s nowhere in town with vacancy, making such a suggestion is extremely disrespectful of a customer who paid top dollar for an average room. I too had been awoken repeatedly, rushed and pushed past on the stairway. Im handicapped, and I’m not very fast on stairs. This is not okay. And this is not acceptable behaviour, from the offending people, nor by management. As a frequent visitor to Guelph, I will happily drive out of town for accommodation before I’ll return to this motel. The groups may come with big bucks on the short term. But it’s the regulars that keep the lights on in slow times. Apparently that has been forgotten here.

Dear 10110101, Thank you for your review and your feedback. I just want to point out that the part of the conversation you described was not the whole conversation, nor did the situation take place as you described. This weekend was very busy and the first time we have had a large sports team in the hotel since 2019. As you can imagine having a group of kids/sports etc arriving at a hotel can be either a pleasant or disruptive one. I had taken multiple steps to ensure we had clear rules for our teams and had every guest been given these rules at checkin. Anticipating some excited kids and parents to be finally free of Covid restrictions my team spent weeks cleared a large meeting room downstairs so that they would have a place to go so as not to disrupt other guests during their stay. Of all the hotels in our area I have a big list of regulars and long term stay rooms that I wanted to make sure had no issues from this one group. At 430 pm this guest you mentioned came to the front desk to complain about the kids in the hall and although I understand noise is disturbing it was also 430 pm. I explained to this guest that we did inform them of the room to gather and that they are just meeting up and excited and surely they would calm down soon. I did also say that due to a full house I had no where else to move her. We scheduled extra staff on shift to ensure things went smoother throughout the evening. Seeing that she was still upset I asked her if she would like to cancel her reservation because at this point, I am not sure what else to do for her. She then told me she would speak to her husband and let me know. I gave that option to her so that she didn't have to stay if she didn't want to. I was not rude and not offensive. As it turns out she did stay and we considering being a full house most of the weekend was uneventful. As for the big bucks sports teams do not bring us big bucks, we were just excited to be finally able to host a group and ensure they had a pleasant stay while ensuring our other guests are looked after. I believe we achieved that goal this weekend. I would hope that guests understand though that sometimes these things are out of our control and we do our best to keep things smooth for everyone as best we can. Thank you again for your feedback and I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay.

Out dated, slow check-in, slow internet, carpet was dirty, breakfast was basically non existent. Way too much for what is actually offered. Sad, great location and the outside looks okay. Pillows were a joke as well. Place felt like it was from the 90’s. Wasn’t offered to swipe or use my points either.

Reasonably priced. Comfortable bed. A little dated but clean. (Rug had a red stain…maybe should be replaced) great location. Breakfast is the typical continental, nothing special but convenient and easy to get)

Where to start....the chap at checkin was confused that we had pre-paid. Duhhhh! Turns out that was a mistake on our part. The air conditioning was not functioning on one of the hottest days/nights of the year – although the fan made a god awful racket 24/7. A Queen bed was booked; a double bed was delivered in this "Frequent Visitor" room. No directions to operate the pint size cable TV (trial and error finally solved that issue.). One plastic cup and one coffee cup. for 2 people in the room. Lumpy pillows. Security door propped open all night with a stone. The stopper in the sink came loose (had to fiddle with mechanism under the sink to get it to drain). One plus: lots of hot water. As a Wyndham Rewards Member, I expected MUCH better. I was aware that some renovations were underway in the hallways before arrival. I did not expect the room to be in such shambles. We definitely won't be back to this hotel.
