We had to check in because our Train was delayed and we had no sleep for 20 hrs as we flew from Vancouver and we were asked to leave the train station because it was closed across the street. It was Christmas Eve and a terrible snow storm we were trying to get our train back to Windsor for Christmas . It was midnight when we checked in and we were surprised at the price of $170 considering it was an average hotel. Turns out we were there less than an hour to find out our train was coming after all. We checked out requesting any reimbursement under the circumstances and it being Christmas Eve and they said no. It was a horrible experience we were only there an hour.

Because of work reasons, I often stay here. Recently, the hotel has changed a lot, and the breakfast service has also been added. The color of the lobby is more warm, and the carpets in the aisles are also brand-new. Very happy to see that the hotel has begun to change and the service is better!

This well-established hotel is located in Guelph’s downtown. You get to feel that the ride in Otis elevator will be the last ride as it struggles up the elevator shaft. The hallways are wide, but the carpet is well worn. Entering the room, you are greeted with a strong musty smell and a large and spartan room. If you are expecting comfort or basic human needs such a sleep, heat, phone, or waste bin try a hostel. The hotel is strategically located next to the “Trappers Alley” night club that is very popular, and the makeshift racetrack just happened to be below the room’s single pane windows, so the earliest you can expect to commence your sleep cycle would be 3:00 am. I was unfortunate to use this facility on garbage day where the reverse beeping of the garbage trucks beat my alarm, so I got a total of 3 hours of sleep. The Room was relatively clean but so cold that you could almost see your breath and no thermostat or heat source was available. The gaps in the dirty windows kept the single digit temperature efficiently low. The room’s bright spot was the upgraded wall mounted multi-shower heads, where I was able to warm up before going to bed. Next morning, I was pleasantly surprised to find my car intact in the hotels free parking. I paid more than triple than what the value of the room was worth. I will definitely not return.

Do not stay in this hotel!! We arrived about an hour before the official check-in time, and assumed we could either check in early , or at least check in and leave our stuff at the front desk/lobby. The person at the front desk just said, "no, you can't check in early, those are the rules. My husband nicely said, "really? Oh, come on, can't you just check and see if the room is ready" she snapped back, "That's was I'm doing." She was so rude!! Sure enough, the room was ready , which seemed to anger her. She let us check in, but while checking us in, kept mumbling...."rules are rules for a reason." That was the best part of the whole stay. The room was a hole! Weird, bedding.....none matching...like they raided Grandmas closet.the bathroom was tiny no room for even a garbage can the shower was so low my husband had to have a shower on his knees! There were people smoking heavily in their rooms on our floor.....all weekend. The place reeks of smoke...not stale smoke. Horrible, horrible place. No place to put your stuff, either...no dresser.

I went there to visit my son who is going to The University of Guelph. I am a woman by myself, clean and quuet. First at check in there was a mistake and I ended up walking into a room at 7 pm with a woman in it and she probably thought I was a burgular. Still I went back to the desk and she was already calling down and obviously upset. So they asked me for a damage deposit. 200 hundred dollars. I gave it on my debit card ot realizing I would never get ut back. I stayed for 2 nights and there was no damage period. Dawn decided ti check the room before returning my damage deposit. Alparantly the dyvet civer was dirty as I had some makeup on it. So here i am tryi g to catch my 709 am train to Toronto and Dawn is keeping my money to wash the duvet cover. EXTORTION. I MISSED MY FIRST TRAIN SINCE I WAS DISPUTING THIS. I BARELY CAUGHT THE SECOND TRAIN AS I TOLD HER THAT I WILL TAKE THE BLANKET WITH ME SINCE IT WAS COSTING ME 200 DOLLARS. SHE HELD ONTO THAT BLANKET LIKE LI NUS FROM CHARLIE BROWN. THE OWNER OF YHE PROPERTY SHOILD BE ASHAMED OF THIS CUSTOMER SERVICE. I WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK AND ALSO WARN U ABOUT THIS damage DEPOSIT AND DAWN the SO CALLED MANAGER. r

Spent a couple of days to relax. I had access to most downtown locations, had a clean room and excellent food located in the lobby of the hotel venue. I recommend it, try it. Guelph is a campus town, but is rich in history, culture and heritage.

An all time for first a hotel or motel. Before we were permitted to check out, the front desk person surprised us by saying she would have to inspect our room and see whether she would need to deduct costs from our deposit. Upon returning to the room with the front desk person she stripped the sheets inspecting them, and the rest of the room. Never happened before and was weird and somewhat creepy. Our sheets were brought down to the manager for further inspection. really weird.

Was able to get a room through a third party site for $75 for the night. Room was big, bed was comfortable. Pros: -inexpensive -steps from the train station and lots of resteraunt options -front desk staff was great -large comfortable rooms Cons: -not the nicest hotel, but again you get what you pay for -area at night can get a little 'iffy' -

There was a blood stain on the bathroom door, and a massive murder stain on the ground. HUGE ghost vibes! Also, let me add that we found multiple bottle caps from other guests and my sister got locked in the bathroom for 10 mins! I told the staff when we checked out and he was apologetic, but retrain your cleaning staff! Gross.
