A nice motel. Just like all the reviews. Small, clean, and no frills. The theme rooms are a nice touch. The owners are more than helpful and even baked treats for you. She suggested the wine tour and Niagara on the lake area and it...More
Based on reviews, my wife and I reserved two nights at the Rex in early August 2015. Our aim was to stay economically in a cared-for motel, and we were not disappointed. Our room was tastefully theme-decorated (Parisian), clean, cozy, and comfortable. The Rex is...More
We stayed at the Rex motel after seeing the reviews on Trip Advisor. Reviews are right. We stayed in the Italian room and our friends stayed in the French room. Clean, clean ,clean. A little small, not a lot of room to put luggage but...More
This was our second stay at the Rex and it was just as great as last year. Emilia really rolls out the welcome for guests. The Rex is a motel and if you hadn't heard about it on TripAdvisor you'd likely drive right by it...More
Absolute oasis away from the pomp and frills of the Niagara Falls, ON area. It was great staying in the family room with our two young children. Would highly recommend ordering a pizza from Your Neighborhood Pizza restaurant which delivers to the Rex Motel.

It is over 3 km so not really walking distance. Especially since you will do a lot of walking around the falls area. We drove in and found some parking lots that the owner had directed us to. There is a main parking lot that is $10 a day but the owner directed us to one that was $5 on ellen ave but the rate sometimes goes up later in the day. That lot is small to so it can fill up fast so if your going to the full day that is probably the best option unless you want to pay more to the $10 lot. I believe the $10 lot has a shuttle to the falls. We did also find a free one that's near the dufferin Islands on burning springs hill rd but its a long walk ( appx 1.8km) to the falls there.
