Why this motel do a scam on deposits? I have not yet got the depsits after 5 months of checked out. I lived there in Oct 2023 from 14-19. I want my deposits back as the owner told in checked out that the depsit would be released within a week. I paid it in cash at the counter in check in. Adhikari Buddhi Bahadur

Well my child accidentally booked a room and I was charged. And upon trying to cancel it I was told there is no refund. So thank you very much I will forever have bad reviews on this scam of company And then to cancel the $156 room for two nights within 5-10 minutes if he booking being made, I’m gonna be charge $146 to cancel it. Does this mean I’m getting charged for the room the. Charged again for canceling it ? If so we will be going to court

First off, I liked this place. A 5* joint it isn't but then again they do not charge 5* prices. General... Yes, it is a bit jaded and could do with some TLC. In the room it had a fridge & microwave (great for making hot coffee to start the day). 2 Queen beds. A bit soft but comfortable. Clean bedding. 4 towels & 2 facecloths + soap & shampoo. The shower ran nice and hot. Plenty of sockets for your electricals. WEGO bus about 600 metres away. Small supermarket 600 metres away to the left too. TGI Friday, Pizza place, Applebees & other eateries all 400 metres to 1 K.M. away. A rack of info leaflets + a map in reception. The not so good... The TV is a bit dated with few channels. The overall decor was reasonable but needs some TLC. The windows need either net curtains / blinds or some tinting so you can open the curtains and retain some privacy. Though clean, the bathroom also needs some TLC. A small table and 2 basic chairs outside to sit and smoke if you wish that overlooks the car park. The view will not take your breath away but that can be said for many places. The staff... Suman deserves a special mention. She was great. A very helpful lady. Cheerful too. If I had queries or needed something she was happy to help if she could. The other receptionist might smile but was nowhere near as hospitable and helpful - not something you need when on a first visit, to be honest. Generally friendly and polite other staff. For the naysayers I see moaning about this place, I'd say to them, spend more and go stay at the Hilton or similar. LOL. This is a place to sleep, shower, have a coffee or 3 and serves that function quite well. …

I don't know why this motel has such a low rating, I think it's unfair. Often tourists expect from a cheap, simple and cozy place to stay at least the luxury level of an all inclusive hotel in Cancun. This motel has everything you need for a traveler: comfortable rooms with microwaves, fast internet, comfortable beds, polite staff. It takes 15 minutes to walk to Niagala Falls, cafes and restaurants within walking distance. Let's add free parking for guests, which saves you a lot of hassle in this tourist city.

Scam artists. I had returned from a trip to the US and needed a place to stay. Because my previous planned accomadations had fell through I had been up all night. I called the Ritz inn. Left a message that I was looking for a room. A man got back to me just before 10:30am. He said he had a room available for $55 dollars including taxes. He said using my debit card woudl be no problem. Great. I said i would take it. He asked how soon I needed it. I said as soon as possible as I had been up all night. While check in isn't till the afternoon he said he would see how soon the room could be ready and call me back. I didn't here from him. At about noon I decided to walk over to the motel as it was not that far from the restaurant that I was at. I arrived and gave my name and that I had reserved a room. The man, who obviously wasn't who I had originally talked to, seemed confused but said yes there was a room. I brought out my debit card. He wanted a security deposit which had not been discussed. Fine, add it to my card. He couldn't do that, claimed they couldn't do a refund on a debit card. There was an ATM so I reluctantly withdrew enough for the security deposit. He then presented me with the bill. It was for $99. What! I explained that I had been quoted $55. He said that that was for single queen rooms, which is what I wanted, and that they were all gone. I said I had talked to someone earlier and had reserved a room for $55 and that the man was supposed to get back to me with the time it would be ready. The man behind the desk said that was someone else and rooms were first come first served. Needless to say I left. This felt like a classic bait and switch scam to me. Stay away. …

Response from Rick Gulati, General Manager at Ritz Inn Niagara

Rooms are served at a first come first serve basis unless a pre paid reservation is made. In your case you didn't have a credit card when asked over the phone making it impossible to process a prepayment. By the time of your arrival a few hours later, many reservations were made and pre-paid for. During both instances you were offered what was available at the time so we apologize if it was over your budget and that it felt like a bait and switch.

Booked online for $49 + 3%citytax + 13%hsttax+$2.26 local council tax = $60 CAD for one sunday night stay in april 2023. Great clean rooms with 2 comfy queen beds and free wifi. Room comes equipped with Roku flatscreen TV, hair dryer, microwave, minifridge. There is both A/C and basic eletrical heater in the room, although the switch setup is you can only run one at a time. Staff is very firendly and accomdating. Check-in time. Very close to fallsview casino, about 10 minutes walk. But this is a basic budget hotel with no amenities: so no gym, no swimming pools, no free breakfast,...etc.

Great value and so close to everything. The motel is within walking distance to the casino, the Falls and many good restaurants. The staff were exceptionally friendly and courteous. The room was clean, large, with all amenities and the bed was really comfortable. Nothing fancy, just a good place to stay and save money. I would certainly stay here again anytime.

Our room was immaculately clean, beautiful tub. Not 5 stars by any means but only because the neighbors seemed sketchy. The owner was super nice and helpful and the location and price were great. A romantic and affordable getaway!

After seeing this hotel on the television show “Hotel Impassible”, I wanted to see if the owners managed to get out of the rut they were in. My fear was that they would be too used to their old ways to change, that their past would hinder them from seeing the bigger picture - Canada is a developed country and people are used to much better than a fridge in a room as a side table. I am very, very sad to see that they did not manage to jump over their own shadow and did not use the opportunity that the world famous hotelier gave them to move to the next leve. It’s very sad but it was clear that they would not really change. Too caught in their own system.
