Booked this new Hotel during Christmas travels for 2 nights because of an approaching winter storm. Arrived at 4:00pm on the first night and cancelled the 2nd night since the storm was over and was told that I would get a credit for the 2nd night. After a week of checking my credit card With no credit I called the Manager and was now told that I would not get a credit for the 2nd night that I did not stay. They could do nothing to correct this issue and I would be charged for 2 nights even though I only stayed for 1 night. I have never had this happen in 40 years of staying in many hotels. This seems to be the Fairfield cancellation policy. I would recommend staying at this hotel if by chance you have to cancel.
New location in North Bay. A little hard to get in due to location but very doable. Great rooms and great service from start to finish. Very helpful staff. Great breakfast that was hot with a good selection of food. Loads of parking close to hotel.
We stayed for six nights during a family visit, and greatly enjoyed our stay. Even though our room faced the Trans-Canada Highway, we could hear very little traffic noise. The beds were comfortable and gave us a good night's sleep, and the complimentary breakfast buffet provided a good selection of hot and cold items to choose from. We especially appreciated the excellent service provided by the hotel staff team. The only drawback is that the bathroom has motion sensor lights that turn on automatically whenever you enter, and we couldn't find a way to disable it. That's fine during the daytime, but jarring when you're getting up in the middle of the night. The night light provides plenty of light for us. Also, our fridge was not working, which is surprising in such a new hotel. This is a minor complaint, since we didn't use it much.…
We stayed at this hotel three times, while visiting a patient at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. It is basically across highway 17, and so convenient to the hospital. Parking at the hotel is plentiful, with lots of spaces out front. Check-in was always a breeze. (Except the first time when we arrived at 4:30 AM, and the front door was locked, so we had to wait a while for the clerk to return to the front desk). Staff at the front desk were always pleasant and helpful. The room was exceptional. So well thought out, and functional. There is a huge TV, small fridge, and small microwave. Excellent reading lights over the beds. Lots of functional storage, including a closet. The bathroom was great. Shower was especially nice and huge. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner were all top of the line. Breakfast was very good. Lots of options, including eggs, bacon or sausage, fruit, cereal, make your own waffles, toast, boiled eggs, beverages. Everything you could possibly want. There is plenty of seating, and it was never crowded. Overall, this is a fabulous hotel, and I would highly recommend it.…
We were in town to watch our son and his Queen's Gael's lacrosse team play at the University. The brand new hotel was just down the road and so easy to get to from the school. The rooms were brand new, staff is wonderful and breakfast was hot and tasty - we will certainly be back next time we are in town!
I called ahead to ask about DF & GF breakfast options. The front desk attendant that took my call made a note on our file. When I checked in, she remembered me. She had a bag ready to go for our gf/df kiddo and that extra effort was so appreciated! The breakfast fare for everyone else is typical for Fairfield Inn, which we appreciate. The waffles are always a hit. The room was comfortable. The kids enjoyed the pool. We would choose to stay here again.
My elderly parents and I stayed 3 nights in an accessible 2 queen room. Problems....carpet too thick for my dad's rollator. He had a tough time moving around. Our accessible door swung shut too quickly. During our 3 night stay, no one cleaned our room. The beds were too soft. The horrible low flush toilet clogged. The shower was barely hot and I had it as far as hot could go. Not much selection for the free breakfast. Sadly very disappointing. The positive is the hotel was fresh and new. The towels were nice and thick. I thought it was a higher class hotel....NOT.
New hotel that has the amenities you need. Easy and painless check in with friendly and helpful staff. Hotel has an indoor pool, weight room and a decent breakfast. Hotel recently opened so everything was super clean and neat, Great spot if you are visiting the university or college.
I have stayed at Hampton Inn North Bay a few times and decided to try this hotel. It is new, and this is the only compliment I can give it. Locations is not good. No food food or drink within walking distance. One hanger and no ironing board in the room. Fixed when asked. Safe in the room not bolted, which is worse than no safe at all. Told front desk. They said they would fix. Not done. No housekeeping. I asked for it and still no housekeeping. Apparently they are short staffed. Staff ok, but clearly inexperienced. Breakfast choices rather poor. Cheap yoghurt rather than greek yoghurt that they have listed on hotel page. Next trip I’m heading back to Hampton Inn.
This is a brand new hotel located in the north part of North Bay. It is not far off the main route. Five minutes drive to restaurants and other stores. The hotel itself is in excellent condition and has nice facilities. The breakfast was typical Marriott free breakfast. Lots of parking available. The only negative we experienced was due to a fellow hotel guest who was yelling and banging late at night - we did contact the front desk about the situation but never heard anything back from them (Probably because they are new and inexperienced).
