Let me tell you that I should have stated here my entire trip, however you live and you learn. I booked for my last night on my trip and it was the best decision. I was able to get a good nights rest, which I had lacked for says prior. I went there earlier that morning to store my bag until check in so that I could make my way to enjoy my ziplining activities that day. I interacted first with Aman, who was a phenomenal customer service professional. He assisted me greatly. I confidently went about my day and returned later that evening to check in with Shisti ( I believe) who had been updated about my stored bag by Aman. The efficient communication between team members is vital to the enjoyment of a smooth process for guests. I was able to make my payment, collect my bag and room cards with wifi code with ease. I was grateful for the the clean and relaxing environment, the microwave for warming my delicious food for Kochin kitchin, the air conditioning when I was hot and the heat when I got cold, the clean bedding, a clean and efficient breakfast system with delicious authentic Belgian waffles and hot tea that I love, and the so much more. The wifi worked well and the floor hallway areas were also clean. From the front desk staff Aman, Shisti and Ekarm, the space cleaning Raul who was amazingly pleasant, the Housekeeping and food and beverage team I wanted to commend you all for your outstanding service.

As said by other reviewers, the hotel is modern and clean. The hotel staff are courteous and responsive, and the hotel seems to be doing a good job of following COVID precautions. In one respect, they may be going a little too far. If you're staying less than five nights, your room is not cleaned. We were okay with that, but the rooms do not even have toilet brushes to keep your toilet clean. I guess we could have asked for a staff member to clean the bathroom. We liked the layout of the room, our luxurious king bed was comfortable, and overall everything was working, except for the bathroom exhaust fan. Our ninth floor room had a pretty nice view, although the Gatineau Hills side would have been better. The hotel is a short walk to Byward Market restaurant/shopping district and the Rideau Centre shopping mall -- and about a 20-minute stroll to Parliament Hill. So the location is good, but it is a bit of a depressed area. Not sure if I'd feel comfortable walking around late at night (although it probably would be okay). We used the pool once (by reservation), but it's pretty small and we saw a couple of clumps of hair on the pool deck, so the staff could do a better job of keeping the pool area clean. The free breakfast each morning always included hot items, so that was nice. But my wife and I are vegans, so we couldn't partake (although I cheated one morning). In fact, not much to choose from if you're vegan, but we're used to that and brought our own food. The mini-fridge and small microwave in the room were very handy in that regard. As far as I could tell, the room rate was significantly better than other downtown hotels and (as mentioned) you're close to most museums, etc. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would probably return.

One of most terrible experiences I ever had with hotels. Where do I start! Upon check-in I got surprised that they don’t have an on-site parking, although it clearly says on booking.com that they have an on-site parking, I had to park my car 5 minutes away from the hotel. front desk was empty, had to wait 5 min before someone showed up. The safe box was broken and despite me asking several times for someone to fix it no one showed up. The breakfast menu was a joke, just egg and cheese or ham and cheese sandwiches and fruits, no milk or cereals no cheese no hams no veggies and no juices. And by the way the area around the hotel is very dodgy, although it’s in downtown yet it’s next door to a homeless shelter and the streets around are full of junkies and homeless people. House keeping staff were very unprofessional. The only good thing I can say about this hotel is that room was clean and tidy, but don’t let that fool you, they don’t do room service now because if covid and they will not refill your room with consumables such coffee capsules or tea bags. Take my advice and stat away.

This hotel was a good choice for our family based on the location and proximity to the Byward Market and many major attractions. If you don’t mind a little walk it’s close enough to everything, and if you prefer an Uber, it’s a very small fee to the major sights. Our room was great — very clean, thoughtful amenities like a bench for suitcases that doubles as extra seating, a desk, USB ports beside the bed and by the TV. One of our USB port was broken, but we still had enough to charge our devices. The air conditioning in our room worked well and was very quiet. Our friends room was set to the same temperature but consistently felt much warmer than ours. The bathroom was also nice and clean, lots of towels and in the tub they offer a good shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in pumps on the wall. We were surprised to find that the room was not cleaned when we returned at the end of our 2nd day — perhaps it’s a covid measure (although more cleaning would make more sense to me) but it would have been better if we’d known in advance. The front desk sent up clean towels for us when requested. The breakfast was disappointing. The photos on the website should probably be updated as they are a bit misleading. They are currently offering juice, milk, and yogurt; cereal bars; three choices of individually packaged bread (today was croissants, waffle, or vegan buns); apples and bananas; and then there is a lady who will give you one of the two hot items - but you can’t have both. A man in front of me asked for sausage and eggs, and she told him he could have one or the other. He asked for 4 sausages and she told him he could only have 3. This struck me as inhospitable and inconsistent with a normal hotel quick breakfast — normally if you want more of something you can help yourself and of course, you can have some of everything. On the first morning of our stay the hot options were a spinach/feta pastry or a ham/cheese melt. I found the choices not great for kids - there were no cereals offered. When we went to breakfast at 9:00 it was packed, but at 7:30 it was nearly empty — if you go I recommend to go early. Pool - Open from 9:00-6:00 currently and requires a reservation Fitness room — Open from 9:00-9:00, requires a reservation Staff — Very nice and helpful.

I'm reluctant to write this review because the hotel is modern, clean and well-run with a friendly, polite and professional staff.  Having said that.. I can't in good conscience recommend staying here because of the area.  It's located directly across the street from a homeless shelter.  You can literally see people sleeping on the sidewalk from your hotel room.  I have attached some pictures of street people and people living in a tent across the street from the property.  These pictures were all taken from the sidewalk outside the hotel.  It's bearable if you plan on driving or taking Uber wherever you go.  Just don't try to walk anywhere unless you don't mind being aggressively panhandled or propositioned by homeless prostitutes.  (Again, no reflection on the hotel or staff.  Just an unfortunate consequence of the location.)  You can get Uber to Byward Market or Parliament Hill for <$10 though so it's not too bad.  If you just need a place to crash for the night, it's clean and comfortable.  If you're going as part of a vacation to see the capital though my advice would be to look for a place in a nicer location.
