I realize that covid affects our travel experiences, and hotel stays simply are not as pleasurable as they once were. This one was fine. That’s all., I did not feel that anyone was interested us in any way as customers., We had a little room, we slept well; the location lacked charm but it was within walking distance of everything . There was no cream fir the coffee in the fridge. They told me I could come down and get powdered cream. We were basically left to our own devices. No room check of any sort. They did have umbrellas at least., i wouldn’t return.,

The hotel doesn’t correspond at all to a 4 stars level hotel. Could be maximum 3 stars, to be generous. The lobby and the room need to be not only refreshed but also a regular daily maintenance. Not value for money.

First off the location for this hotel cannot be beat! The doorman and staff were very friendly. The room was dated and elevators were incredibly slow. We had no face cloths and only 1 towel in our room. The next morning when we went out, we asked the desk if they could give us an extra towel and some face cloths. They gave us 3 large towels. It is very challenging to wash your face with a large bath towel. On the day of checkout, the maid knocked on our door to clean the room at 9am. Checkout is 11. We tried to call the front desk to confirm that checkout was 11 but one of the phones in the room didn’t work and no one picked up at the front desk. The restaurant is not open because of COVID (which is a little strange considering all restaurants are open?). These are all little things but there are enough of them that we probably would not stay here again. But the location would be hard to beat.

Through the years I have stayed at the ARC in Ottawa and thoroughly enjoyed, however not this time. It claims to be a boutique hotel and it once was however its not what it use to be. I realize that the pandemic may have played in changes to the hotel, but the hotel now looks tired. There were cobwebs in the hallway of the floor we were on. The toilet tank leaked and the heating/air conditioning fan was very noisy so much so that we had to turn it off at night so we could get to sleep. There are no USB outlets to plug in chargers only electrical outlets and the house phone rang in our room in the middle pdf the night but no one was on the other end of the call. Hope it can be brought back to what it once was

I waited in line for 40 minutes just to make it to the counter to check in. They were extremely slow, but were very polite. Once in the room it was definitely smaller than expected, but clean. Overall the hotel was clean and in an excellent location.
