A charming modern full-service hotel set in the heart of downtown Ottawa, located just steps to the Byward Market and the Rideau Canal, a short walk to the Parliament and across the street from the Rideau Shopping Centre- the leading shopping destination in the city which holds one of the only Nordstrom stores in Canada. The Novotel Ottawa is perfectly situated across from the Shaw Centre (Ottawa Convention Centre) and the University of Ottawa is a 5-minute walk from the property. The trendy new Albion Rooms Restaurant at the Novotel has been recognized by the New York Daily News as “hypercool” and voted by UrbanSpoon as one of the top restaurants in the city. Buffet breakfast is composed of an extensive selection of regional and seasonal produce from the market. Our bartenders serve up craft Ontario beers; wines from small wineries and winemakers, classic cocktails and our house signature dishes deserve their own place at the table. From Canadian roots and Ottawa soil, Come experience true North hospitality with a hand-crafted story in our comfy yet glamorous interior or on the restaurant’s shaded patio. From breakfast to lunch to dinner and late night, Chef Stephen’s menus take a rustic yet contemporary approach to bites, snacks, meals and feasts for any occasion! Our hotel features 283 guestrooms, complimentary Wi-Fi, 24-hour fitness center, an elegant outside patio, a refreshing indoor swimming pool, and sauna where guests can enjoy a chic yet restful stay. We have stayed at the Novotel a total of 7 or 8 times, the most recent being just before Labour Day. Our daughter attends Ottawa U so this is a great location when visiting. We find the rate is always competitive, they have a points program that has saved us money on return visits and they remember us when we have returned. It's a small thing but something we appreciate. The last visit we had their breakfast which is now opened, I think it was $18 per person but worth every dollar. It had a very European feel to it with delicious breads, meats, danishes and cheeses. The price included coffee and juices. Highly recommend. The hotel is across from the Rideau Centre and an easy walk to the Byward Market. The rooms are not big but have high end showers in the bathrooms (ceiling shower and moveable arm). The parking is indoor and the spaces kind of small but we have never had trouble finding a spot. I highly recommend.

Been to this hotel a few times (pretty much my goto hotel). The hotel lobby is nice, the lounge and restaurant are very nice and comfy. The rooms are on the average range but comfortable and views are limited. The only issue I have is with the showers which are very slippery. The staff is very courteous. They always accommodated my requests whether it was for champagne/wine glasses or additional toiletries and coffee. You get special attention when you brunch there. Nicole was super nice and offered me coffee to go.

GREAT place to call home! The room was comfortable and spotless. Bed was so comfy! Room temperature was perfect! Parking was a breeze especially with a pass to come and go with no hassle. Everyone we encountered were professional and very friendly. A special shout out to Nićole in the Albion room for the fantastic continental breakfast. She was so attentive and courteous. Will certainly be back out next visit.

Second time I’ve stayed here in the last year. The room had been renovated since I was last there (maybe I’d just had an old room last time). The room was large and comfortable. It faces the car park at Rideau Centre and I could watch drug activity happening on it at night for entertainment. There was something weird about the tv - I think they forgot to program the channels when they set up the tv and it was difficult to figure out what channel was which - no guide on the tv. It was hard to know what was on. Other than that it was a great stay. Would highly recommend the hotel.

We stayed at Novotel Ottawa Aug 20-23. We had 2 rooms booked for us and 2 older kids. Parking our truck in the under ground hotel parking was challenging. There were not many spaces we could fit our Ford F-150 and we luckily found the last spot big enough. Our rooms were directly across form the ice machine and our first night sleep was very bad as the ice machine was used constantly until 1am. Traffic noise was very bad in this room too. We asked to be moved and they did find us 2 new rooms away from ice machines and seemed to be much quieter side for traffic noise. Much better the following 2 nights. The rooms were clean and updated but no fans in bathrooms and not enough towels. Restaurant was good/average typical breakfast buffet. The location was fantastic for walking everywhere. The pool was fully booked for our first day at check in but we booked 2 time slots for the next 2 days. Overall our stay was good/average. We probably wouldn’t stay there again mostly because of the parking issue with our vehicle.
