Overall an amazing value. I have stayed here twice. Location is excellent and rooms are mini apartments with separate living area and separate kitchens. Literally this is the only time the photos make the rooms look smaller than the are in actuality. The rooms are dated but clean.
Excellent experience. Friendly staff, and a great quiet room. We had a one bedroom with a full kitchen with all of the plates/silverware/cooking utensils you need. Pros: Big room, quiet, clean, large tub, and good shower. Good location (at least for us). Generous free breakfast (sandwiches, bagels, muffins, cream cheese, orange and apple juice, coffee, tea, water and yogurt). Free laundry on-site with laundry soap and a dryer sheet included for each load. Room delivery of food and alcohol with the restaurant next door (MacLaren's on Elgin) Smoking allowed on your rooms private balcony which is greatly appreciated during the winter months and when on a higher floor. Cons: One of the elevators is being renovated and therefore your trip up or down stairs can take anywhere from 1 min to 5 min. Neutral: Older hotel and not a resort. We actually like this feature, it's still clean and orderly, just not anything super fancy. …
The corridors seemed old and I didn't expect much from this hotel but I was positively surprised. The room was very clean and well organized. There's a full equipped kitchen with a stove, refrigerator and freezer, coffee machine, and toaster + dishes and cleaning supplies. The bathroom was nice. The living room area had a TV, a desk with a computer and printer, a comfortable couch and 2 tables. The bedroom was separated from the rest and very comfortable with another TV, an ironing board and vacuum. There's also room service from the McLaren pub downstairs with free delivery to the room and there are vending machine with snacks and drinks. For the price, I didn't except a suit like that. It is also well situated. I was too busy to explore the surroundings but I highly recommend for business trips or any type of trip.…
This hotel is probably the best all round deal in the City. The rooms are very clean and spacious. We rented a suite with King bed and a full kitchen and a pullout Queen sofa bed. There is also a complete desktop computer with a printer. Included free of charge to all guests is a hot breakfast, free use of laundry rooms and a gym facility. The hotel is centrally located and minutes from “The Hill””. The main floor restaurant delivers meals to your room, free of charge but I tipped the person. I can’t say enough good things about the hotel. We’ll be back again for sure.
A large suite formatted with a kitchen, king size bed, and a 90” TV!! My expectations were very much so surpassed. Was not expecting any of this. Wonderful stay! Perfect location as Elgin has so much to offer and close enough walk to Byward. Look forward to staying here again
This is not a fancy hotel, but it is clean, has huge rooms, and offers excellent service. We stayed there only one night, but I will definitely be staying there again. There were two tvs, a computer, full kitchen, small living room, large bedroom with 2 queen size beds, nice bathroom, all for under $200 (and only that much because we paid for a parking space). I was really impressed with the efficiency of staff, and would highly recommend this hotel. It felt like home.
It's a great place to stay. They're very accommodating. I requested 2 cots for my kids when I was at the front desk and as soon as we got to our it was already there and ready to be used. I also liked that we can cook food in our room. It had a complete kitchen. Laundry is also free 24/7. The location is also great since it's close to everything you need. Also close to parliament hill. They are reasonably priced. I recommend this place and we will be coming back.
We stayed with our dog for a night in one of the pet rooms on the first floor. The room was large, and fully equipped with anything you could need for an extended stay. We had a bedroom area with a king size bed, a kitchen area with full size fridge and a oven/range, toaster, kettle, coffee maker, dishes, cutlery, pots, etc., and a seating area with a pull out couch, office corner with a computer and printer, and a small dining nook. The suite was very clean and had everything we could have possibly needed. It was in a great centretown location (conveniently close to my daughter's apartment!), there was a small green space just across the road when exiting onto Gilmour St. where we could take our pup out for a short walk if she needed an outside break. The breakfast had many options, but I really only had coffee so I cannot say much about that. We parked at City Hall rather than onsite as it was more convenient for us. Overall, we were very pleased with the hotel and will definitely stay there again next time we are out visiting.…
The room was very good, stayed for only one night. The room was very big with a kitchen, a PS4, sofas and a Windows 7 desktop computer. Overall, great hotel if you are planning to stay in the heart of the City Centre of Ottawa.
I was very torn on what to rate this hotel. We reserved the cheaper mini suite, expecting just a bed and bathroom. But instead we got a room that was twice the size of most hotel rooms, we had a queen bed, with a leather lazyboy couch, large TV, full kitchen with full stove, fridge, and all the necessities required in the kitchen. The only negative to this room was the bed ..... if you are one person, it would have been great cuz you sleep in the middle. But for two people, it wasn't very comfortable as it sagged in the middle and we kept rolling on top of each other and waking up. We literally had to hang onto the side to keep from rolling into the middle abys. But that was the only negative. It was great location too. Less than 10 minutes to walk to the National Arts Center or Parliament Buildings. Many bars and restaurants in the area as well. …
