We stayed at McVicar Manor in the creekside room for one night when we landed in Thunder Bay. It was a lovely start to the trip. Everything was so well appointed and all the little details were thought of. It truly felt like a luxurious little getaway and we slept to the sounds of a babbling brook. The house itself...

I have been lucky enough to stay at McVicar Manor a number of times over the past few months. Tom & Dorothy are amazing hosts! I have stayed in both the Manor Room and the McVicar Room and have found them both incredible. Breakfasts are gourmet and generous. I can not say enough good things about this treasure. The century...

We recently spent a week here and couldn't say enough about our stay. We were in TBay to look for a house to buy. Tom and Dorothy were amazing hosts and helped us in our house search. The breakfasts were tailored to our tastes and we always left the table satisfied. Our room was very nice and we really enjoyed...

My new husband and I stayed here in the Manor Room the night of our wedding and were made most comfortable by Dorothy & Tom. They even extended breakfast so we didn't have to be up so early which was greatly appreciated after such a long day. Delicious breakfast using fresh ingredients from the garden was a special touch and...

Very comfortable, fantastic breakfast! A beautiful property, restored with care and attention. The beds were comfortable (good choice of pillows), and the hosts were outstanding. One of the B&bs I've ever stayed at.

My hosts were wonderful in ensuring I was comfortable and relaxed. I have special dietary issues and they took great care to ensure I was happy and very well fed. Beautiful rooms and the garden is a delight. Highly recommend.

As the title of the review says, WOW! This is a great B & B and if we are ever in Thunder Bay again, we will definitely stay here. The hosts treated us with the best hospitality. The breakfast was outstanding. I can't think of anything that was not agreeable to my wife and I during the stay. To Tom...

At the beginning of our driving trip out to western Canada, my husband had promised that we would stay in an up-scale B & B in Thunder Bay. We stayed in the Manor Room for one night in June 2012, and the MCVicar was beyond up-scale. We loved it! The location is close to many restaurants, and the grounds are...

We stayed in Thunder Bay for 2 nights in May 2013 (in the Manor Room). It had a view of the Sleeping Giant and at night you could hear the gentle rumbling of McVicar Creek (the ran along the B&B). Within walking distance to many great restaurants. The hosts (Dorothy & Tom) were very friendly. The best was comfortable and...

Only good things to say about McVicar Manor and it's owners. My husband and I stayed three days at this centrally located property while visiting family in Thunder Bay. We had the en suite McVicar Room with it's own balcony. After sleeping in a comfy bed and hot shower (with Body Shop products), Dorothy would present us with a variety...

“Every one of the 4 room has its own special charms - one of ours had a balcony and ensuite, the other room had separate, excellent bath”

“I am sure that the rooms with baths are the best, especially the turret room. We shared a bathroom and that was just fine.”

“The Manor Room is sunnier due to the number of windows. The McVicor Room is darker (great for sleeping a little later) but has a wonderful balcony overlooking the gardens. Just to keep in mind as this time of year (June) it is light until after 10 PM and the sun comes up around 5 AM.”
