This high quality boutique hotel with modern appointments is great for business and vacation travellers. It is a good long walk from the business centre although there are street trams, buses and taxi services are available. One downside is that the majority of rooms in this hotel have showers only - so if you are a bather like me you...

I love the location. And the vibe. The rooms are modern and beds fantastic. I miss the old bathroom amenities - Ren was the brand I think. The lobby bar is great and the Diner is perfect for late dinner and breakfast.

My night at the Thompson was great, upon check in Juliana was super friendly and explained all of the amenities to me! The overnight night team was so helpful! They brought up extra stuff that i needed at four thirty in the morning! Jennie recommended such a nice spot for breakfast as well! I would definitely return to the Thompson,...

Booked this room for a special guest. Needed a location close to King Street and a good range of services and dining options. Karleigh checked me in with a heart warming charm, glowing smile and extreme poise. She effortlessly arranged a variety of house keeping items, restaurant reservations for my guest and took the time to make recommendations for utilizing...

Stayed in there for one night whilst in Toronto visiting friends. Great location with lots of options for restaurants and night life. The rooms were clean and the staff were pleasant. Would definitely be back.

Would highly recommend this hotel! We've stayed at many places in Toronto and most are pretty good. This hotel was updated, upbeat and accessible to everything. We ate at Thompson Diner, which was amazing. The Hibachi restaurant was great too!

Overall a very good experience. The staff was friendly and courteous, the room was very clean, and the view from the penthouse roof pool bar was incredible. The downtown location made this hotel accessible to cool restaurants nearby.

I have to travel into Toronto for a 2 day appointment every couple of months. Usually, my wife and I usually stay at the more "traditional" hotel in the city core and this time decided to step out of our comfort zone and proximity to where I have to go. During planning for this trip, we decided on something different....

I give this high caliber hotel a 10 out of 10. Great all around. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable and I loved the heated bathroom floor. The roof top lounge was a nice quiet afternoon hangout for a glass of wine and turned into a Vegas style club at night!

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
