The hotel is conveniently located near the entertainment, arts, and business districts and union station. It is an amazing historic building. The common areas, bars, and restaurants are gorgeously decorated. My room was dated but comfortable. The staff was very helpful.

This is a lovely hotel. Unfortunately it is using the fact that it is undergoing major renovation to get customers to upgrade instead of offering free upgrades. Rooms are small and soundproofing is poor. Can easily hear people in the next room or the elevators if close to one. Trains as well but hotel says you can't hear them. Remember...

Stayed here for 3 nights and had the most wondery stay. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, the staff are incredibly friendly, helpful and attentive and the location in Toronto is second to none, had a view of the cn tower straight from our bedroom window. The library bar is a fantastic place to.eat and drink with again incredibly welcoming staff...

I just completed a stay at the Royal York I was impressed. I have stayed here many times over the years (Fairmont Presidents Club member) and each visit you could see how the hotel was slowly fading, but this visit totally turned me around. I stayed in one of the newly remodeled rooms on the 8th floor and was very...

I loved the historic nature of this hotel. Lots of pictures and stories line the walls of an exceptionally well preserved hotel. The rooms are nicely updated and still fit the ambiance. The service was excellent.

The Fairmont Hotel is located across from the train station and near key sightseeing areas of Toronto. Comfortable rooms with a later check out time, so visitors can experience the city the day of departure with a later flight or store luggage will the bell hop. Great stay. The staff also quickly corrected an error on my bill.

We were upgraded to a newly-refurbished room (whatever the next level up is from deluxe). Big, comfortable beds. Two bathrooms - one with a shower and one with a bath, both sensibly laid out and very clean. The room was very dark, but that will be partly because one window was shrouded as there is external work going on. The...

We stayed at this Fairmont for 7 nights as the first stage of our Canadian adventure. Traveled. By train from the airport to Union Station, which is directly opposite the hotel and so easy to access. Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
