I treated myself and my wife to an overnight stay in Toronto and staying at The Four Seasons Yorkville was indeed one one of the highlights! Fantastic suite, great food and service at the bar and some of the best linens and beds I have ever slept in since The Ritz, London! Bravo to all the staff!
The Four Seasons Toronto has become “home away from home” for us thanks to their amazing staff and attention to details! You can count on their Concierge Desk for great recommendations on restaurants and places to go, and Front Desk Manager Margaux really gets out of her way to make sure you have the best stay.
We have been staying at this Four Seasons several times, and always it is a pleasure. From the moment You arrive, until after You leave. The room was perfect, always well kept, impecable. Café Boulud offers a wonderful breakfast, and all the personnel is first rated. I would like to mention specially Orson, and María from Concierge service, and very, very specially Jordan Clazzer, Guest Service Manager Assistant, for his help and dedication to solve our problem , sending luggage to the Airport, and arranging everything. Thank You.
We decided to take our oldest son to FS to celebrate this birthday since he is a big fan of hotels. The hotel was fantastic and the accommodations and facilities are great, however, the one thing that was surprising was the inability of the hotel to accommodate my youngest son with his allergies. When we stayed at FS Maui, the kitchen staff was able to provide egg-free pancakes for breakfast but when we called Cafe Boulud they told us that would not be possible and our options were home fries for a 5-year-old with an egg allergy. This was odd just because of our amazing experience at the FS Maui and their ability to accommodate an egg allergy for a young child. This is quite a common allergy and you would think the FS would be able to handle such a request. So what we did do is take the kids to McDonald's for breakfast and my wife and I grabbed brunch. It's something small, but also very surprising for a hotel like the FS to not be able to accommodate such a request especially since it was done in Maui.…
This was my first stay at the Four Seasons and for whatever reason I always believed that the hotel chain was supposed to be first in class among luxury hotels. It may just be the case at the Four Seasons Toronto but the finishings (engineered wood floors, wallpaper, bathroom tiles, etc.) all felt cheap and akin to many new construction condo projects built within the last 10 years. The hotel did not really feel like it was a 5-star hotel and the service was average. When I called for housekeeping prior to leaving my room, the person who answered my call asked several times what I needed without providing clarification that 'housekeeping' is not specific enough to know that I needed the room to be serviced. I am not sure if the hotel keeps records of which rooms have been cleaned each day but I did not understand why the employee felt the need to ask 'what housekeeping do you need'. Overall, mediocre finishings for a supposed 5-star hotel, less than impressive attitudes from the staff and above average room fares even when compared to other 5-star hotels in desirable locations means that I would need to heavily reconsider ever staying again at the Four Seasons especially when other options are readily available and also recognize brand loyalty. …
This hotel is always the best option when in Toronto. Amazing staff, service, food, and location. Plenty of shopping, restaurants, and ideal location for transit heading north/south or east/west. Pricier than it’s competition but well worth it.
Outstanding!! We will be back. Customer service was stellar and accommodations were fantastic. The pool/spa is something that can’t be missed. Everything from the food at the Cafe to the staff who manage the room were incredible. We have stayed at a lot of hotels but this is Four Seasons is one of our favourites! Until next time…
It was a present from our daughter for 1 night in that excellent hotel. We been upgraded to bigger room without asking. All services, food and pool are just fantastic. Thank you Four seasons hotel staff!
The staff of the 4 Seasons looked after me like family (especially Abdul the doorman). I am very grateful to be treated so well when I'm away from home. I've stayed here a few times before and always enjoyed the hotel. This time I was travelling to look after some health issues and was feeling stressed. This will always be "home base" for me when I'm in Toronto. You have my gratitude and my loyalty. Thanks.
This was our first time staying at the Four Seasons Toronto. Despite staying at the Ritz, St. Regis, and Shangri-la many times in the past, we wanted a change and had high expectations. Pulling into the hotel we were immediately cut off by a valet parking staff member. He literally swung the car around so fast and completely cut me off as I was pulling in to the carport. Not the best start but I didn’t say anything to them when handing over my keys. I really wanted to have the most positive experience for our staycation and didn’t want to immediately start complaining. I booked through the Amex platinum fine hotels program which includes a $100 credit towards food and beverage, room upgrade, noon check in when available, breakfast for two, and 4 PM late checkout. We arrived at noon but our room wasn’t ready, so we went out for lunch in Yorkville and when we returned our room was ready around 2 PM. We were told we received “3 upgrade levels”, however the room was identical to a standard room. Do yourself the favour and just book standard as the only difference is the view and about 15 sq.ft. It’s quite a bit more expensive yet the bathroom and bedroom all have the same furnishings and fixtures (which are beautiful btw). We were hoping for a suite as we were celebrating my birthday and wanted the extra space for a couple friends visiting us. We were told there was a $270 upgrade charge which was not at all worth it. When we agreed to the upgrade charge, the view faced the roof of the pool area, and construction. The suite itself had two bathrooms which we liked, however the exact same bathtub in the principal bathroom. The pullout couch was as hard as a rock and slanted (incredibly uncomfortable), and looking out to that hideous view we decided the upgrade fee was not at all worth it. Back to our “upgraded” standard room we go. It took Alex at the front desk 3 times to get our keys working, each time coming back from the elevator for him to try again. Not sure what was going on, but it was a nuisance. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub area, although no water or fruit available anywhere. Ritz and St. Regis will at least have bottled water available at the pool area, and sometimes infused water or a bowl of fresh fruit. Nothing like that at Four Seasons, however the attention to detail was prevalent with someone coming in and restocking towels every 15 minutes or so. We went back to the room and ordered room service for dinner that evening. Both myself and my spouse are vegan. We put that under special requests when we booked the room, and told the staff member answering the phone for room service the same. We asked what vegan options they had available to which we were recommended a vegan wrap and truffle fries. We ordered 2 and I purposely asked 3 times, “the truffle fries are vegan, correct? I’ve never had vegan truffle fries before.” And the staff member reassured me each and every time “yes, everything will be vegan.” When it got to our room, the fries were smothered in Parmesan cheese. Keep in mind we were also told the slice of birthday cake that was in the room when we arrived was vegan, which we ate, but at this point I’m not so sure. It was incredibly disappointing as the chef should know what vegan means, and dietary restrictions are so important, especially at a property of this calibre. Later that night we decided to take a bath in the beautiful tub, however despite our best efforts, the drain was leaking water continuously. We had to refill the tub 3 times while we were in it. The shower also wasn’t functioning properly as the temperature handle spun and spun, so you couldn’t actually select the temp you wanted. One point we would be freezing, next the water would be scolding hot. Just completely unacceptable for almost $1000/night. The next morning we ordered breakfast ($115 for 2 bowls of oatmeal, 2 juices that honestly had to be from a carton, and a very small fruit plate); it was completely uninspired. I attached a photo for reference. Obviously we are used to paying a lot for room service at 5 star hotels, but this was almost offensive as it was incredibly underwhelming. I will say the staff are wonderful. I dealt with Tia during check in and she was so warm and welcoming, with such a positive attitude. Margaux, the front desk supervisor, was also amazing and cared deeply about the customer experience. Shoutout to housekeeping as the room was SPOTLESS. I spoke with Alex at the front desk the next morning about our dinner and the issues with the bathroom amenities, and he immediately relayed the info to Margaux. She came out to reassure me that this would be investigated and would be in touch the next day regarding the issues. The next day I spoke with Margaux over the phone and she informed me that Alex at the front desk relayed the completely wrong message. She believed that I was complaining about being on hold for too long with room service, when in fact my complaint was the food itself and our dietary restrictions not being accommodated for. Not honouring our these restrictions was not at all acceptable. At the end of our conversation she took care of the valet parking and some additional charges from breakfast (my $90 breakfast credit wasn’t enough for the oatmeal LOL). I accepted but in my opinion it was the bare minimum they could’ve offered. I still paid $850 for one night and with our food, shower and bathtub all having issues, I think more should’ve been done to account for these issues. After sitting on this for a few days, both my spouse and I have decided we will not be returning. When we inform the Ritz of our dietary preferences ahead of time, they go above and beyond to ensure we have a variety of choices (and they’re actually vegan). The club level lounge even had special meals prepared for us. We really felt taken care of at the other 5 star hotels in Toronto, not so much here. I know our expectations are high, but when you’re paying this much for a standard room and basic needs like plant based food or a properly functioning shower/tub aren’t met, it leaves a very bad taste in your mouth.…
