I always stay here when travelling for business. The location is great - close to Union Station and walking distance to most of downtown. Downside is the room service menu is made up of dishes from the hotel restaurant and is very pricey. After travelling and working sometimes I just want something simple. Overall, the rooms are great; clean and...

Travelled overnight for our anniversary and were not disappointed! Were upgraded to a higher floor room at no extra cost (beautiful view)! King sized bed was extremely comfortable and location was close to restaurants and The Rogers Centre and CN tower! Great staff and service. Would stay again!

I stayed here for an international hotel conference back in October 2014. The hotel is connected directly to the Toronto Convention center. The location to places nearby makes this the ideal choice. I wasn't here for sightseeing so really didn't venture out too far. The hotel stays really busy because of the convention center. Being IHG Platinum, this was the...

My friends and I booked 2 rooms at the Intercontinental while we had a booth at an expo taking place at the convention centre. Wow! Was I ever impressed. Worth the extra few dollars for a room here - especially for expo goers. We were about a 2 minute walk (indoors!) to our booth, which made it really nice for...

Great location for downtown sports venues. Close to shopping, restaurants and everything Toronto has to offer. Would definitely consider again if price reasonable to attend a sporting event at Air Canada or Rogers Centre.

Stayed at the Intercontinental Toronto next to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. It is very convenient if you are attending an event at the MTCC. Usually can get a decent pay in advance rate. Have stayed here other times when attending events, this time it was for the wine and food expo. Did not eat in house this time but...

Nice business hotel, would put its competitive set with Marriott and Hyatt. All services. Staff was friendly on all shifts. Really appreciated the doorman's attentiveness to hotel guests. Pool and Spa looked very upscale, amenities upscale also. Full service. Free wi-fi for rewards members. Received upgrade upon check-in which was really appreciated!

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
