The room and private bath were so comfortable and well appointed. Hosts were interested and interesting and a great help. The location was marvelous...only about a mile walk to the hop on Toronto tour bus. Local restaurants were excellent.

We stayed at Cabbageville bed and beverage for 2 nights and it was great. The house is lovely, rooms really homely and cosy, bathroom always clean. We had a shared bathroom but it was only shared with one other room and we were never waiting for it so felt like it was just for us. The hosts were so welcoming... More

What a wonderful place! Beautiful house that felt like home with such a wonderful host. Beautiful room with private bathroom and lush banana shampoo! Within walking distance of downtown Toronto. We had confirmed parking prior to arriving. Cabbageville is a beautiful area with such lovely houses.

We felt like we were visiting a families home. They were very welcoming and interested in our visit. They made sure we had everything we needed and were well aware of where everything was located. It's located in a beautiful part of town. Nestled away in a lovely scenic and beautiful neighborhood. It is very close to downtown, buses and... More

Three simple but comfortable rooms in a very quiet landscaped street. Public transport and local restaurants (good ones) are easily accessible. We did not meet the owners but they really organized everything for us to feel at home. Some may find inconvenient that breakfast is not provided, but there is a small refrigerator, a microwave and a coffee machine, so... More

Great location, charming, helpful hostess. If you drive in, reserve a paid parking spot. Street parking is difficult. Good dining a short walk away. Good opportunity to learn little Toronto history. Bed and beverage, not a bed and breakfast.

Tucked into a wonderful historic neighbourhood surrounded by cafes and restaurants. Once you park your car you can walk most places. Take advantage of the onsite parking for $10 because cars without permits have to be off the street by midnight. Our queen room with ensuite was at the front of the house, crisp and clean with a comfy bed... More

It is a great place to stay whilst exploring Toronto. We stayed here for a week and found it to be perfectly located, with the centre within a reasonable walking distance. The owners made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. Breakfastwise - there are plenty of places where you could get something to eat in the local... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
