This hotel is about as typical as you can get. No complaints, but nothing to rave about either. There was a little mildew in the tub, but otherwise it was fairly clean and a decent size. The lighting in the bedroom was pretty poor, which was a bit of a pain for getting work done. I generally like the area...

The hotel has friendly staff. The room was clean with nice bedding. the hotel is also close to subway and sightseeing, just a walking distance from CN Tower and Downtown Toronto. It's a few minute walk to the lake Ontario.

I found this hotel to be located superbly well right on the Esplanade giving great walking access to all the main sites and locations and especially handy as some excellent restaurants are located opposite and in the adjoining road. The hotel was very big and the rooms were very nice and I thought exceptional value for money for such a...

A very average hotel, no one to help you with the luggage, very robotic reception, average sized rooms, Boring decor. Location was not bad, walking distance from the main streets and the dundas square. Nothing to keep me coming back though.

I stayed here for one night in May. Nice rooms, room service was fine, staff were courteous. The location is perfect since the Novotel is close to lot of restaurants and theatres. I felt the price was reasonable for the quality of the hotel.

Pros: central downtown location, comfortable bed Cons: uncomfortable pillows, view of parking garage, noisy at night from local bars, the elevator to the underground parking seemed to need maintenance

You get in Novotel what you expect. The room is quite spacious with all the facilities ( TV, AC, coffee maker etc.). We didn't have breakfast there but we had a good, long swim in the hotel's swimming pool and jacuzzi:) The location is really very comfortable. The hotel has a ground parking.

I've stayed here a few times on business. The lobby is quite impressive but that is where the joy stops. The rooms are dated and dark. The beds are average put pillows are too small and too soft. One time, I was there with colleagues and were rudely treated by the server at breakfast.

Waited with several other travelers for 15 minutes at check-in with nobody behind the front desk. I finally asked at the bar for service and they were able to find help. The girl who eventually came to help was unapologetic and dismissive. Otherwise it was a very nice stay.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
