While this hotel is not 5 star it is very clean with friendly staff, only a short walk to Air Canada Stadium (basketball), the hockey hall of fame, public transport and the water front. The restaurant is quite simple and could be improved with a better menu, my group only just managed to each pick a dish and the kitchen...

This hotel appears that it has had little investment from the 2nd floor up. The lobby is nicely renovated and it stops there! I accident found stall sticky food crumbs stuck to the coffee stand during our meeting. Nobody though of cleaning the edges of the coffee stand. The carpets in the bedroom corridors smell stall and appear old. Where...

Just spent six nights at this hotel. We have not one complaint. Our stay was perfect. Nazir at the front desk checked us in and provided accurate directions to nearby bank for money exchange, as well as setting us up for day trip to Niagara Falls and sightseeing on hop-on/hop-off tour bus. He helped us feel at home right from...

Stayed there for two days on business. Rooms are good sized, clean but a little tired. The freebees in the bathroom are above average. Free wifi, which is always a plus. Good location, 15 min walk to Eaton Center and right across from a few bars and restaurants. The hotel restaurant/ lobby bar was quite good. The staff was very...

Stayed recently at the hotel. Great location - right on Esplanade and 3 min walk to downtown core. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms are nothing special but are nice. Pricing a little on the high-side but that's what you pay for the location

I personally had a very good stay here. I was here on business but found the location great for exploring the sights. I did not bother to book breakfast and went to two local diners which were great, The George Street Diner and The Patrician. I did have a drink in the bar and had lunch in the hotel, and...

This hotel is just okay. First the good. The staff is very friendly and great downtown location. The hotel is in serious need of a facelift. If a little money was put into the decor from the 80's it could be a 5 star hotel. I got a great deal on my stay so not too upset but better hotels...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
