I visited this hotel in January when passing through Toronto. I normally stay by the airport as it was closer to my partner at the time, but decided to go for the downtown vibe and really enjoyed the location, close to all the good sights in Toronto. I also think the customer service the hotel provides, especially at the front...

Stayed two nights with the kids. The room was ready when we arrived, check in was smooth and staff friendly. A huge plus was the hotel parking for only $25 per night, with elevators straight up to the hotel. The room was clean and comfy. The only thing to complain about really was the free wifi which was sporadic at...

Compared to other hotels in the area, Novotel is relatively inexpensive. The location is convenient to the convention center and much of the Bay Street business district. Not a new hotel, and the room I stayed in had not been refurbished lately, but the hotel is fine. Clean, quiet, decent beds.

Rented a room for 3 nights with 2 adults and 2 kids for March break (booked through CAA and got great rates) All of our activities were located downtown and we opted not to stay at the Royal York due to construction. What a pleasant surprise. Spacious, clean, well appointed rooms, 3 blocks from the heart of the city with...

This was handy to the train station so you could walk but the street was under construction and may be for some time. Nothing out of the ordinAry in terms of rooms. Peeling paint on the ceiling in the shower/tub area. The hot tub in the pool area was not very clean and did not work very well. It was...

This hotel is really well located for quick travel in and out of the Billy Bishop Airport or Union Station. Travellers can fly in to the island airport, catch the free shuttle to Union Station and then walk the short distance to the hotel. There is a lot of construction happening in the area right now, but the walk is...

We had a room on the fourth floor facing the Esplanade. The room itself was minimally furnished. The beds were comfortable - the pillows not so much. We did not have any room or street noise (and we were there on a Saturday night). There were a couple of things that I didn't love. We could not turn the heat...

-We stayed here in December. -location was good, with lots of dinning options nearby... Keg, old Spaghetti factory, some pubs, etc... -Union station (Subway Access) or corner of Front st/Yonge st (Subway or PATH Access) were about a 5-10min walk away. -Onsite parking (parking garage) was $20/nite and it allowed in/out privileges during your stay. -Access to all floors via...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
