My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights - a long weekend wrapped around Adele in concert. The hotel has a couple of nice features - location and the free breakfast. The location is great, a very easy walk from King Street metro or even a walk from Union Station if arriving by train, or the UP Express from...

We were very pleased with this hotel when we stayed here recently. Our room was a good size and clean. I particularly liked the full range of cable TV channels available. It is located a couple of blocks from the centre of the city but once you orientate yourself you'll have no difficulty finding your way back each night. Free...

I am surprised by the quality of the hotel. For $313/night, I would expect an updated cleaner room and hotel. Sofa in my room is filthy. The bath rooms are clean but very worsen. The front desk seems nice. I am concerned that I may have been billed twice. We shall see in the morning

The location and lower price of this hotel is why I ultimately selected it for a recent trip to Toronto. It's old; the rooms are beginning to show age; and the staff was so/so (housekeeping didn't get to our room until well after 2:00pm). They did print my Hockey tickets at the front counter, but were just ok overall. The...

When you have been through to Holiday Inn's before, you kind of expect a certain standard. This one is excellent in terms of location and service. But everything else is mediocre. Rooms and hallway carpets look old. The walls must be thin because I could make out the conversations from the other room. Breakfast is a plus, but don't have...

This hotel reminds me of the third rate Boarding Houses I stayed in as a penniless teenager. The carpets are worn , dirty , and threadbare. The paintwork is chipped and faded. The front door surrounds have broken concrete borders around a poorly tended excuse for a garden. The lifts have damaged wooden panels and the hallways are dimly lit...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
