We booked into this Inn because we were in town for surgery at St. Michael's Hospital. Apparently there are many who book in for the same reason and the hotel staff actually asked how my partner was doing after surgery!!!! Of course it is typical Holiday Inn, but it is a brand we have come to trust...no surprises. The breakfast...

This is a 'typical' Holiday Inn express in terms of the amenities and standard rooms, very few frills... but I just cannot recommend this one more highly! Being a quiet person when I checked in I requested a 'very quiet floor' - away from any wedding parties, elevators, ice machines etc. They kindly put me on the 14th floor, (Room...

This is obviously was another hotel that HIE took over and upgraded to their brand. It is showing signs of wear and age, but it was clean, quiet, and conveniently located. It is always nice in a city not to have to pay $15 for breakfast. Their breakfast bar was the usual HIE fare. WiFi was slower than most hotels...

I stayed here for 2 nights on business in April. The rate is good and the location is just outside the downtown core. Easy walking distance to the financial district and shopping. I found the front desk staff to be very friendly and the check-in process was very smooth. The room is a decent size and everything functioned correctly. I...

Amazing staff. Great people. And that's the good. All other hotels were sold out downtown so I had no choice. Old dated hotel. Paint was chipping off the walls, corners were dirty from years of use, and ceiling was falling off. Just not very comfortable if you're staying for a few nights. Aside from that it was great. Room service...

I was so impressed with the layout of our room, I asked to see a few others. This location really put a lot of effort into designing a variety of layouts to ensure every traveller and his or her family were comfortable with their surroundings. You'll love the big city feel and the wonderful hot breakfast!

This hotel was very clean, comfortable beds, very friendly and helpful staff, breakfast provided had a wide choice to cover all tastes. The hotel is situated in the heart of downtown which you could easily walk to the Eaton Centre, subway station and Streetcars. A very short streetcar ride from the CN Tower, Aquarium, and boats to the islands.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
