The reservations manager had contacted me before my stay to confirm my booking and ask what the purpose of our stay was. I told him that it was the last bot of our two week Canada adventure and that I was to propose to my girlfriend during the trip. He upgraded our room to a jacuzzi suite and had a...

Overall satisfied with this hotel. I am an active traveller and like to see the sites. The hotel was a 25 minute walk to CN towers, Rogers centre, and the waterfront. By taxi it was about 10-12$. Not much to do in the general neighborhood of the hotel, so that was disappointing. Shopping about 10minute walk. Seems safe neighborhood. Rooms...

This hotel was very nice. I arranged a conference here for 40 people and everyone was pleased. The staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for you, especially Sommer, she was amazing. The food was excellent too, lovely rooms and very clean. The only negative was the location, but the hotel were able to get cabs for you. I have...

My husband and I stayed at this hotel from June 24th to 30th. clean, excellent staff, breakfast buffet was delicious. About a 25 minute walk from Roger's Centre, Air Canada Centre, etc but about 7 mins to Dundas Square and Subway. The roof top deck they offer is beautiful c/w two hot tubs and view of the city. My family and friends stayed at this hotel for our week stay in Toronto, and it was great. Positives: Staff was friendly and helpful, room was clean and setup nicely. During the weekdays, they have a free shuttle that can be used and was a great alternative to a taxi. The walking distance from the hotel to things like the...

We just got home from a two day visit to Toronto with our grandson. We stayed at the Grand Hotel for the two nights. This was not our first stay here, and it won't be our last. The hotel staff are wonderful, starting with the bell staff and valet when you arrive at the hotel. They are exceeding polite, and...

Beautiful Hotel! We stayed here two nights and due to unfortunate weather ended up spending more time at the hotel then anticipated. We actually rented movies from the lobby gift shop to watch in the room Both of the tvs in the room had dvd players (one was missing a remote). Although more expensive then other hotels in the area,...

Stayed here for 1 week. The hotel lives up to its name. It was very grand. All staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful. The hotel pool was a hit with us and the opening hours were great from early morning to late at night. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel bar had a great atmosphere and one girl stood out in...

A quality hotel om a good central location and within easy walking distance of King Street Downtown and York Town and at a lower rate than the hotels in the Downtown area. It is a short distance from the St james' Park area with restaurants and pubs, the St Lawrence market and a few blocks across from the Eaton Shopping...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
